H H Dickman Chemist

Beautiful old chemist that has been a fixture on Berkhamsted high street for many years. Dickman's provides friendly, personal service; competitive prices (for example, they are cheaper than Boots for a private flu jab); and a wide selection of products (including many products made in the UK). I love their selection of items from Geo Trumper and Taylor's of Bond Street. They also provide innovative services like the automatic transfer of prescriptions from your GP's office.

Initially I spoke to a really friendly and helpful young man that understood the issue I was having tracking down the medication I needed. It is so lacking in supplies that no chemist in my local area had them and I’d been waiting a week already and was desperate so the friendly guy ordered them for me and said they would be there the next day. I called up to check they arrived and a very lazy sounding guy answered and didn’t even say anything just started talking to the pharmacist and ignored me. The pharmacist then didn’t listen to me explain and I repeatedly had to clarify that there was an order and my name. Then said he had given them to someone else this morning!!! Even though they were set aside by my name and the order was in my name. I found him really very inconsiderate and disrespectful and I’m still without my much needed medication.

Very very nice people and care they do for you. Every time I have gone in someone always come out to me and ask if I need help with anything and if I have a concern they will have a chat and sort you out straight away. If I can't get a drs appointment I go here for advice and to ease my mind .

Stunning pharmacy with amazing service. The Pharmacist and staff are very kind and helpful and always go the ‘extra mile’ for me. They also have some great quality products. Kent shaving products being my favourite.

We had our antigen tests for re-entry to the US done at Dickman on 3/9/22 . Young man that administered the tests was very courteous and helpful. He didn’t rush but took time to explain everything.Thank you for your great service!

One of the best chemists I have ever been too! Very customer service focussed, you are always asked if you need any help when you walk in. Always professional, friendly and approachable! Recently needed some travel advice and they were more than happy to help as always.

I would like to share my experience of Dickman pharmacy since I bought 3 Antigen Tests and paid for them in error (Realised the rules had changed!) and the customer service was amazing since they offered to refund me without any question asked. The pharmacy also has an amazing range of beauty products which are top class and very affordable too. So nice to have a local pharmacy that cares for the neighborhood.

Staff nice but manager (I assume manager) appeared to be a bit of a ****. Bought a home test for Covid so I could travel but I made an error so went back to purchase another one. I explained to the staff member I made a mistake and simply wanted to purchase another one, and was not asking for a refund. I explained what I did wrong so if any customers had questions they'd know what to say etc. The manager was there listening in to what I was saying to the staff member. When the staff member went to get the test to bring to the counter the manager said to him, which I over heard "Charge him!" in a way which was with greed and lack of sympathy, and must have been thinking I was trying to get it for free. Up yours buddy, never using your shop again.
