Visit one: Four days prior to my visit I had handed in my paper prescription to collect, on collection I was met with a lengthy queue. One short lady was rushing around trying to serve customers, several people were in the back sorting prescriptions, and one behemoth blonde woman with glass and a face like shes been kicked by a donkey, sat in the corner doing absolutely nothing. After waiting 20 minutes and several customers beginning to complain the behemoth let out a massive sigh and waddled her way over to serve. However, she was rude to the two customers in front of me and now it had become my turn to be served by her.
I stated I had come to collect my prescription, she gave me a dirty look, quickly flicked though half a dozen bits of paper out of a whole stack and then said 'you have to wait 72 hours for it to be ready'. This is when I told her it had been more that 72 hours and would like my prescription, she then sighed again before flicking through the same half dozen papers and then told me my prescription wasn't there and practically said she wasn't going to help, so I angrily left.
I returned the next day, medication-less and shaking to be served by a friendly lady who actually looked for my prescription and gave me what I had ordered.
Visit two: I had gone to electronic prescriptions by now and was told I needed to phone 48 hours before collection to get them ready. for two days I rang and rang, probably over 60 times with every time I got through to be hung up on. So I went into the chemist myself and asked for them to release my prescription. I was then told by a staff member that they had been intentionally hanging the phone up as they were too busy to deal with customers.
Visit three: the exact same thing happened, I phoned constantly for three days trying to get through and just kept getting hung up on so I again went down to the pharmacy and asked for them to be released.
Visit four: This time I tried to ring and got straight through, shock, a nice person on the phone then released my prescription, told me to come in 48 hours to collect, and that's what I did. So, on collection day, everything went smoothly, a young lad served me, a got what I needed and left. Just to get home and realise they have given me 50mg instead of the 100mg I required. So I rang to explain the issue, was asked to pop in and they would sort it.
So, an hour later I'm back in the pharmacy, the young lad is happy to help and correct the issue and then the effing behemoth shows her rude face and things start getting worse. She states that it wasn't a mistake made by the pharmacy (which it obviously is) and then tried to make me pay for the 100mg (even though I had paid £9 for the 50mg and returned them). The behemoth then states as 'it's not a pharmacy fault I must pay again' which I refuse, she tuts, sighs, and mumbles under her breath 'wan**r' so I pick up my prescription and leave.
There are some nice people that work here, sadly the whole place is let down by that one vile woman.
I have had my prescription processed here in the past and always had to wait at least 15-20 mins.
Will not be using them again.
their poor service anymore
The advice they give if needed is brilliant. They also tell you roughly how long you will be waiting.
The shop is very clean and the shelves are always well stocked.
They still take the time to do a window display, not something that you see much nowadays.
Really friendly place. Feels like how a pharmacy used to be years ago.
**Edit ** This pharmacy has gone downhill rapidly in the last six months. They say that they've not received your prescription, that items have been recalled ( checked with gp and other pharmacist and that is not the case) always running out of medication and the waiting time is ridiculous.
I feel sorry for some of the staff here as they are trying to be helpful but something here has gone drastically wrong. We have changed to Sainsburys for our medication now.
I know today it is understandable you have to queue but queuing for over 2 hours to tell me the items are not here is not on.Worst Chemist around. Never going here again.
The new Pharmacist is not only very competent but also caring.
The rest of the staff have been delightful for a while now.
It's great to be able to go to your local pharmacy and get treated like a human being
I have always found them helpful in sometimes difficult circumstances such as the pandemic .
I also found their ad o services su h as blood pressure testing very useful .
Well done .
