After 4 years of being with Church Surgery as a student, I would rate them one star were it not for the nice doctors.
The major problem is actually getting to talk to them. As someone with anxiety/depression, Jess Cathy's review hits the nail on the head. I've phoned up 5 days straight before now just to try and get a call back from a doctor but it didn't happen. I'm left waiting around not just all day, but all week for the slight chance that I'll get to talk to someone.
Mental health is not taken seriously whatsoever by the receptionists, who are perfectly happy if they can keep you away from an appointment for another day. Dealing with them is unpleasant.

Probably the worst organisation I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with.

I cannot fault the medical staff but the management and reception staff are downright rude and unhelpful and seem to think that it’s their job to inconvenience the patients as much as possible. Often the level of service I have received from the non medical staff is bordering on incompetent.

Today I turned up for an appointment with one of the nurses, checked in using one of the touchscreens and sat and waited for 40 minutes.

When I went to reception to ask when I would be seen I was told the appointment was cancelled as the nurse was ill and that they had tried to call me. I had my phone with me at all times but was out of signal for 10 minutes at most, they obviously didn’t try very hard.
No apology for the wasted journey, no apology for the pointless 40-minute wait in their waiting room because their useless appointments system didn’t know my appointment had been cancelled. Just “Do you want me to rebook the appointment or wot?”.

Just gone to change GP’s to find that every single GP practice in Aberystwyth is now part of the same group “Cambrian Primary Care Limited”

I have serious anxiety and depression. This is the 4 time I have called up and been ignored to the point that I have nearly harmed myself. When someone is in a crisis and need to speak to their doctors having them not call them could mean the difference between their life or their death. The Doctors need to take people with mental illness more serious and the reception staff need to be more helpful rather than rude.

I have always found the Medical Staff and Non Medical Staff to be Highly professional and helpful. I understand that sometimes appointment times can overrun but common sense tells you that each appointment is given an allotted time and if just one patient takes more than the allotted time then it obviously delays later appointments....... Well done Church Surgery.

They are very busy at the moment but if you are prepared to wait they are kind we have our tablets delivered and they are very friendly

Hi, I visited yesterday 4.10.2022 appointment time 16:15 well pharmacy give me an excuse that we don't have room available at the moment book again in November I'm not happy with there excuse could you please chase out what's happening.

Always with the arguments. I'm sick of Well blaming Church Surgery when they don't have prescriptions for patients, and Church Surgery blaming Well for not asking for repeat prescriptions on time. Very rude woman on the phone today who belligerently hung up on me.

The pharmacy have gone above and beyond to help me sort out several problems with repeat meds the last two weeks. The issues weren't really anyone's fault just one of those things but the pharmacy have gone out of their way to help me despite none of the issues being their doing. Thank you so much Im so grateful your staff at Aberystwyth are amazing
