I must express our distressing experience recently. We had a beautiful print shipped over from NZ but when mounted it had numerous ripples and a bump where the wood was poking through. We were told it must be printed on plastic and we cd not expect anything better and it would probably happen again. We were devastated as we had paid £600 for the print as a wedding present. Upon checking with the gallery in NZ we were told it was NOT plastic but 100% canvas and was badly mounted which we thought too as it was only wrapped over the back by 1/4 inch instead of 2”. We were asked to wait 11 days for it to be dismantled and NOT at any stage did we receive an apology. I wish I could post a 0.

I was looking for a local art supplies shop and thought I would do a google search and read the reviews. The first review was not promising with the reviewer complaining about being massivley ripped off. I always like to do my research so thought I would try and find these mythical £18 Lyra Watercolour (36) pencils and guess what......I can't find them anywhere online. The cheapest I have found is £29.99 with most websites charging between £32.99 and £36.99. I'm guessing the reviewer has not searched like for like. Glad I could help.

We went to buy some colour pencils for our 7 year old daughter and we have been massively ripped off. We bought a tinned box of Lyra watercolour pencils (36 pencils) and paid 36.99 GBP. The same box can be purchased online for 18 GBP. We always support local independent shops by buying from them instead of buying online (whenever possible) however, certainly shops like this one deserve to lose their business because they are simply ripping their customers off. As you can see, one thing is to charge a bit more for an item because you have to keep up with fixed costs of running a shop, but another is to charge more than double for an item you get online for less than half its price. This has been our first and last time buying from them. It is a real shame.

We had some of our wedding photos framed at this shop and were very pleased with the service and finished product. Looks fantastic in our lounge!

Every time I take my cross stitch work to be framed, I am amazed at how beaurifully it has been done. It is not cheap but when you have out the work in on the cross stitching, it needs to be framed well. Another one going in on Thursday.

I am giving only 3 stars because
1.) There was nobody to open the shop when I arrived and my call to see if they would be opening went to voicemail.
2.) The stock of watercolor tubes was abysmal, (but to be fair WHSmith's stock at the moment is also very poor).
3.) My main gripe is that the assistant stood in front of the paints and said my requested colours weren't there but blocked me from looking at the paints for myself. It was very weird.

On the plus side I was able to park outside the shop.

The shop isn’t open at 10am and all telephone numbers available go to voicemail so you can’t check in if the shop is opening, just have to sit outside like a lemon until you get bored waiting then leave empty handed!
