Pizza Express

This was our first visit to a Pizza Express which made a nice change to our usual choice of pizza restaurant. With somewhere new, the menu choice was refreshing (it's so easy to find a favourite dish and stick to it)
We went with the intention of sticking to the two mains for £10 deal but upgraded a little to a larger pizza. I opted for the Diavolo, my partner, the New Porchetta, my Mom had the Pollo ad Astra and my Mom in law the Classic Lasagna. The pizzas were all on the thin Romano base which meant the knife and fork approach but also meant they were light enough to polish off without the need for a doggy take out box at the end of the evening. The Diavolo was nice and spicy, the Porchetta nice and tasty as was the Pollo ad Astra. Comments about the Lasagna came as "the best lasagna I've ever tasted" so a big thumbs up for the food.
I finished with a cappuccino which again was all good. The service was fantastic and Roberto (taking the name from the receipt) was so helpful and full of smiles throughout the evening.
The place was lively, clean, fresh, modern and airy and seems very popular. It takes walk ins as well as bookings and given its close proximity to Cineworld makes for a handy post/ pre movie meal venue.
I think we'll be returning to make our way through the menu to find our Pizza Express favourite. Would recommend a visit.

OK - Hi Thanks for your reply. The issue was with me not you in that I don't like any form of pizza unlike the rest of my family. My OK was reflective of the very limited choice outside the pizza menu. Staff were great

Family birthday lunch for my 4 year old son in August. Spoke to Natalie, the manager before hand to book and she created the perfect set up. Natalie and her team really went above and beyond. My son was the happiest boy and we are so grateful to her. Food and drinks were excellent! Fantastic experience! Thank you Natalie and co!

Great place and food! Very delicious pizza and helpful staff, food service was fast, server was very friendly and helped choose the best vege options. I will come back for sure.

Went away feeling underwealmed. We ordered two salads and a pizza. I noticed a table across from us sent a pizza back, rejecting it because it was overcooked. When our order arrived the pizza was burnt, black around the outside, hard and simply inedible. It wasn't a tad overcooked, it was burnt. I sent it back and the replacement was much better. Serving up obviously burnt food is just not on.
This is disappointing for somewhere purporting to be a pizza specialist restaurant.

Ordered delivery, food was cold, ordered extra garlic butter which I never received, and crowning achievement was the short hair I found on the last slice of my pizza. I can genuinely only hope it was a beard hair and not another type of hair. I feel sick.

The Pizza was cold in the middle, the pollo milanese turned out to be Chicken Gujions... and the carbonara was just cream with pasta and bacon - really really dissapointed with the food, especially for the prices that are being charged. Items missing from order too and when tried to complained, attitude of staff is "sorry the chef said the pizza was hot but we will remove from bill" - "sorry, its been removed from bill" - quite rude and patronising! Will not be coming back and will be avoiding all "pizza express" restaurants in future!

Rosie was an excellent waitress and really helped us with all of our wants and needs. Very good.
