Just over a year ago we had a very unusual leak in our house and Steve from SR came round on short notice and rectified this leak. Given that he appeared to be so good, we decided to use him again for a number of other plumbing jobs we needed done on our house. The first was a faulty boiler, which when he came round and looked at stated it would take him only a half day to fix. However this job took him 2 days. He cited that the people who had installed the tank had “threaded" the fixings holding the thermostat in place. So he said he had to work hard and rectify this problem for us. That said the cost was still reasonable. We then noticed that water was leaking from above the hot water tank, this was an area that Steve was working around. I am not saying that he caused the damage, but we got Steve out again, and he went into the loft to look at the cold water tank in the loft. Again steve told us that the people who installed the tank had overtightened the nut and it was only a matter of time before the tank split, but he reassured us he could fix it, and he did so, the leak was fixed.
However approx. 2 weeks later the same area started leaking again. So again we got Steve out, who told us that he had done his best to repair it but we needed a new tank. He asked us to empty the tank for him and he would return the following day to replace the tank. That was the last we saw of Steve and SR Powerflush. He left us with an empty water tank, with no hot or cold running water. My wife is paraplegic and unable to walk and sitting on a wheelchair all day, personal hygiene is essential for my wife. Also Steve gave us advice on how to work our hot water tank as he had not fully fixed the initial fault on our hot water tank. Unfortunately following Steve's advice led to me being electrocuted, fortunately not seriously, only a sore arm for a couple of days.
We have had to spend over £2000 putting right the problems we have had, and 2 plumbers that we have used, have both told us what a poor Job Steve and SR Powerflush have done in our house. Not only poor but dangerous, all is good now and our water system is working, but is has taken months to put right
Despite leaving many messages and voicemails to try and get in touch with Steve and SR Powerflush. He has not responded to any of our communications. I am shocked that when I got on line I could see that people are still using Steve and SR Powerflush and leaving reviews. So I would like to know why Steve has not been in touch? Initially we were chasing Steve thinking something bad had happened to him as he literally just fell off the planet. He has told us previously when people put in bad reviews he did all he could for those people. However Steve disappeared and left us well and truly in the lurch. We were never rude, we paid him in full when he requested payment, he did not have to wait a single day for payment.
On one occasion our contact with Steve was purely to ask after his welfare, yet still he did not respond to us.
Steve carried this out in a timely fashion and got all 9 radiators working through his machine. A new pump was required so Steve popped back a week later to fit along with further fettling to the stubborn 9th radiator. A third visit was then planned to replace the three way valve. This visit never happened with excuses for a bad back and then a job which had over run. I have not heard from him since despite leaving messages on his phone and via email. Another plumber replaced the three way valve and unblocked the pipe to the 9th radiator and all is now well. Avoid.
