During 2021 we had booked in a service date with them, and were told they would be arriving in the morning. We rang the office at 11:30am and the lady answering the phone informed us someone would be with us mid-day. I asked what time that would be, as we were originally told it would be a morning visit, and the response was to expect someone around 2pm. To most, 2pm is not mid-day. We had cancelled a mornings worth of work to greet the engineer, so at that point we cancelled the call.
This year we received a service reminder from Warmserve, and after ringing around for quotes, they were the most affordable.
I rang their office on the 24th of Oct, and booked one of their earliest available slots in, the 25th of Nov. I was told to expect an engineer at 9am and was given a quote.
Today was the 25th of Nov, and by 9:25am no-one had arrived, so I rang their office.
The lady who answered the phone told me there was no booking on record. I tried calling their alternative tel. number in case I had booked with the wrong office, and ended up talking to the same lady. I explained my frustration and informed her that I would be making a complaint, at which point she transferred me to her manager, without any apology.
The office manager also did not apologise, and instead told me she would check the phone records and get back to me. I had a phone call back explaining that by coincidence someone on the same street as me, had booked in for the same week as me, but had cancelled, and she had mistakenly cancelled the wrong job / house call.
Still no apology.
It seems unlikely that the wrong house appointment would have been cancelled, as each time a customer contacts the office, their name, house number and contact number is confirmed on the call. Further more, we do not live that locally to Warmserve, so the chances of two people on my street booking in the same week are fairly slim.
I am not confident that the job was ever properly logged. It would have been helpful to receive email or text confirmation of both my bookings, but this was not a service offered.
I was offered a free boiler service at this point, but without an apology, and with a very weak explanation of what went wrong, I would advise avoiding this company where possible, as we will be. We had booked in for more extensive work than just a service, they missed out on a well paying call out.
Very unreliable service, and poor customer service skills from both receptionist and office manager.
Definitely recommend.
