Normally very pleased with their service but they have lately hired a new gentleman (the tall, skinny one). I’ve been going to this post office my whole life and have had no problems up until him. He is relatively new (a few months) and every time I go there he is either asking for help or stuck on what to do next. They need to stop him serving till he learns how the post office works and teach him to not get rude to customers when he is at fault and causing delays, trying to blame it on me because he is refusing a service that EVERY post office offers nationwide (changing coins to notes). From now on I will just be asked to be served by someone else.

I use this post office regularly and I can firmly say I disagree with the negative reviews. The people giving these negative reviews are probably the people who argue with the staff about things that aren't their fault

I've always found they try and ensure my parcels can be sent as cheaply as possible (by using the sizing guide to see if I can be sent as a large letter rather than a parcel). Staff actively check the queue and do their best to keep it moving by checking if anyone just needs to shop counter as they can be served faster for example. My advice to people posting, is to remember it's a busy counter inside a small shop. Come knowing what service it is you need - you can easily find the maximum sizes allowed for letter, large letter, parcel etc online. Remember if you underpay for postage, the recipient has to pay a fee to recieve it e.g if you assume your parcel fits as a large letter when it doesn't. So don't take it out on staff if they charge you the correct rate for your letters of parcels and won't send it as a cheaper size. 🙄

My only suggestion to this post office, is to arrange times for business senders to drop off their parcels. Many people arrive with massive bags full of stuff to send and they should really be using the business service where Royal Mail collects that volume of parcels from the sender's house, rather than allowing these users to hold up the queues at a tiny postoffice branch during busy hours.

There used to be a sign saying
'when the shop is open, the post office is open.'
That's now changed.
They would not let me put a pre-paid parcel, that didn't require a receipt, in the open sack right behind them. 'No. Closed.'
I find they lack any customer service experience as I can be standing in the queue and they'll either be staring down at their mobile or they'll start talking to someone behind me in the queue.
It doesn't have to be an amazing experience at the post office, but ignoring your customers just gives off a bad attitude and certainly will not make me want to purchase anything while I'm here.

Thankful that I have a local Post Office, but the way customers are treated means if I can get away with using the post box. I will.

I sell a fair bit on eBay so come to drop off a few parcels a day always prepaid so just need to be scanned. I don’t usually post weekends anymore, but every few weeks I’d have some to drop off on Saturday. Both online and the sign inside the shop state post office is open until 5pm Monday to Saturday. Came in early afternoon Saturday and was refused by a man I don’t see working in there much. I pointed out the signs are literally still above the counter saying they’re open until 5, he just said “they’re wrong.” Not even anything remotely polite like “sorry, we need to update them”. I wish shops would warn people in advance of upcoming changes to their opening times and immediately adjust their hours online and take down old in store opening time posters to replace with accurate ones to save people wasting their time. I’m very irritated about walking all the way there with parcels weighing a couple of kg and having to lug them back home again with no time to try drop them off anywhere else now

I am new to the area and for most part my interaction with staffs of the post office has been great. But there is a woman who works there; she unpleasant. I was travelling and need to get some 50 notes as it is better to travel with it to west Africa. I had to keep coming which made her ask me questions as to the source of funds. Mind you my first visit the money was paid to them with my bank card. My mum had given me 300 pounds as a travel gift I needed 50 pound notes. After the unpleasant drilling she gave me old 50s. I told her this is old, it might not be useful. She said take or live it, its money. I was rushing to the airport so disided to only change 100. I went on my trip to find that the money she gave me was not accepted any more. Been on my trip I had the chang it at a terable rates with the banks.

Absolutely terrible service. Staff didn't know what they were doing for postage. Then made me and several others wait for a very long time whilst serving others from behind us at the main till. Do not use this post office

I find the men at the post office are helpful and friendly but there is one woman who works there now that has zero customer service. ZERO.

Like the reviews below suggested. I actually dread going in there to find her. Rude attitude, no smiles, not helpful. It would be helpful to find out what days and times she works there so I can go in another time.
