Purley Post Office

The most rude, unprofessional and unhelpful people I’ve met. Literally herding customers in and out and not willing to listen or support anyone. I understand it’s a business but there was a time the post office was a part of the community.

-regardless of that, there should be some level of service. Zero service and very rude demeanour.

Weekend staff are much worse than the staff in the week.

I have never in my life left a bad review or have been so disgusted by the blatant racist behaviour I have received in this post office I am absolutely disgusted. I’ve been refused by the same specific woman twice in there to pick up my packages (I had proof of ID, passport and driving license) for security reasons. If my ID is clearly myself and I have proof of order number I have no idea what kind security the woman can be concerned about other than the reason that I am black. Absolutely disgusting and now the same situation has happened with my mother. Foul

Very unhelpful and standoffish staff. Refused to take my return because they were ‘about to close’ even though it wasn’t yet their closing time yet.
Mumbled though different excuses while they were putting on their coats to leave.

I believe the only reason they’re still in business is because they are the nearest post office.

Deserve zero stars. I would not go here again for Amazon returns after rude behaviour and forced to buy extra packaging for returns.
Will not be going here again and I would recommend you avoid and go to a different post office who doesn’t force you to buy unnecessary packing contributing to their profit and creating excess plastic waste.

If I could I wouldn’t even put one star, the staff there are so rude when speaking to customers. In the morning it was so busy and only 2 people were serving, and they did nothing to help speed things up. When I simply asked if a counter was open the staff member very rudely replied ‘no can’t you see’ even though it wasn’t clear to know if it was open or closed. I’ll never go back there ever again. What a horrible way to start my morning.

I tried to send my annual Christmas parcel to Japan yesterday and there was a supposed issue with sending a toiletry item (a small vial of perfume). First I was quoted £104 for Parcel force priority tracking for 4.6kg parcel. The man behind the counter also really pushed for me to pay an extra £20 to guarantee delivery in a week as in his words 'there was no guarantee it would get there this close to Christmas'. I was suspicious as previous times I had no issue with it arriving in a couple of weeks. When I refused to go with the higher tariff he said I had to remove the perfume before he could send it. I refused to do this as the perfume was part of a toiletry gift set inside a wrapped box.
I left with my parcel unsent and most unhappy as this never happened in all the previous times I sent my parcel. I decided to go to Coulsdon post office today and my gosh the difference was night and day. The pleasant and very friendly lady told me my parcel was 4kg asked me if it contained any aerosols (which was a no) and it would cost £86 via Parcel force priority. She said that there should be no problem for it getting there before Christmas.
Shame on you Purley post office for trying to rip off your customers! I would strongly recommend going to Coulsdon PO if you want better service.

Poor customer care. Went there at 12:45 on Saturday but the post office guy didn’t let me in because it shuts at 1 pm. There were 4 more customers waited outside in freezing cold along side me. I left to Riddle down post office which opens until 4:30 . It is small shop but have friendly attitude towards customer.

extremely rude, and i am not the only one. lady especially very rude. i came in to drop a parcel which i should take to depot nstead which is fair enough. but instead of explaining, she said cant take it and then..."what you do with it is your business".. how rude? please everyone report them to post office they are not fit to represent the brand
