Globe Road (Stepney Green) Post Office

Surprisingly good experience for a Post Office. Short queue. Variety of envelopes and stationary to choose from. Gentleman at the counter very kind and helpful. Sent a few packages with no issues. Will use this one more often.

Dishonest. I purchased postage on the Royal Mail website and printed a label for three Medium 2nd Class Parcels. This Post Office is supposed to accept the parcel and give me a receipt for drop off.

Instead, the woman rudely insisted that I had "not paid enough money," that I had to refund the prepaid postage online, and that I had to pay her the "correct" rate there on the spot. Except, the prepaid postage was correct. Royal Mail has different rates if you print a label versus buying in-store.

The weight, dimensions, and class were all correct on the prepaid postage. However, the online postage is £4.35 and the in-store postage is £5.35 (shown by the Royal Mail website). She forced me to pay the extra £1 per parcel and make my partner feel like she had done something wrong.

This was not a service that requires a signature or other extras. This was plain, 2nd Class Medium Parcel.

There is absolutely no excuse for this other than them trying to make more money or sheer incompetence. Either way, this is dishonest to customers.

I will be sending all of the prepaid order receipts and the store receipt to Royal Mail. They can unequivocally see that I was forced to buy the in-store rate for the same weight, dimensions, and class. If this happened to more than me at this store, an investigation needs to occur.

Visited today around 1pm horrible customer serivce, would not go here again. 2 staff that were working at that time allowing other customers to skip the queue.

I've been using this branch for years and have no complaints at all. The staff are friendly, informative and personable and explain the postage system and answer any questions asked in good humour. Keep up the good work guys1

The indian looking lady at the counter (today at 3:50pm) lacks in customer service skills and also integrity as she lied to me about the branch not providing vehicle taxing service. The information available online contradicts that.

I know she wanted to go home as she looked miserable, but there was no need to lie.

Please maintain professionalism at all times. You stink as much as the next person, please leave your arrogant attitude at home next time.

Misleading about the services and overcharging!!

I wanted to send a 7kg parcel to Europe. The staff told me the only service I could get would cost £67 and it would take 5 days. I paid for it, but I was sceptical about it.

I got another quote on Parcel Force website. It was £16 and it would take 3 days to deliver. Royal Mail/Parcel Force also could come and collect from my place. I returned to this post office and asked for refund. It refunded me via cash.

I bought the service online and the parcel arrived my friend's place in Europe in 7 days, including weekend.

It is disgraceful how they deliberately sold customers higher price. I have reported it to Royal Mail and made complaint.
