Honiton Post Office

Havent used in a while now, but very surprised by negative ratings. Rhys and Julie are both local community heros. Have worked through the pandemic with a smile on their faces. They dont deside the opening hours. A FAT CAT AT THE TOP COUNTING THE PENNYS DO THAT

Only reason for 2.i have looked in three different sites for opening hours.
One says 8.30.
Next says 9.00
Next says 9.30.
Surely they could they could change the opening hours on sites

Staff have no interest in serving customers would rather go on a lunch break at 12.55 and claim it’s 13.00 there was two more customers in the line and he turned us both away and all I needed to do was put some money on my card so wasn’t exactly a big ask

Also I go in and majority of the time it’s closed because they seem to make their mind up on when to open and close the least they can do is have set opening and closing hours

Absolutely wonderful...nice and spacious, up- to- date with self service tills and the staff are so nice and pleasant.

Really frustrated with this place. Generally people are nice when they serve you but it’s if you get served that’s the problem. There’s never enough staff on & they close it at random times without notice, both in the afternoon & at lunchtime so it’s a nightmare if you work. I’ve even tried changing my lunch break around to try & make sure I get there but to no avail. They also don’t always put signs up. Apparently they can’t get enough staff because of people being frustrated at things being closed, having to wait for ages or services not being delivered but this could be helped by notifying people about these issues, before they make the effort to go in to the post office. There never seemed to be these issues when it was attached to the sorting office, can we go back to how it was please? This new service just isn’t good enough.

I only wish I could put less than one star.
While I understand that this branch has has short staff for "months" that is still not an excuse for the website not being updated with changes in opening times or (extended lunches) ! I have made no less than 8 wasted trips and paid for parking in the last 4 months all at a cost to my self. I am also experiencing about 1-2 of my parcels not arriving with their destination each month what is damaging my company's reputation.
I have found that this is a trend across all RM post offices now in my area.
I will be looking for an alternative delivery service.

Is this the worst post office I have known? Yes. Yesterday, again, I hiked there with kids and boxes only to find the dreaded paper outside saying it was closed. Nobody to talk to about it, I tried. Driving to another post office is not an option, and when you have one in town, why should you? The hours change daily and last minute, or so I thought! Funnily enough whilst I was talking to a member of WHSmith about it, a postie came in and asked if it was open (to collect the parcels and letters) and she told him no, but tomorrow will be 10-2pm. She did, however, not give me that info and they didn't have a sign for those hours. It is not online either. So they know that they will have shorter hours on certain days yet they don't advertise it until they print and stick the dreaded piece of paper in the morning. This is forcing me to arrange a collection from the postie from home at 60pence annitem everytime now to avoid stress and xdrama

This post office works so but so bad, I understand there's a shortage of staff but that's no reason for the manager to be miserable and quite rude she doesn't care about the costumers needs what so ever. I was not at home to receive a delivery they've left paper saying to collect the next day, I left work earlier, yes because this post office opens and closes at whatever time they want. I went to the post office to collect my parcel and she said that there was nothing there to come back next day, after 5min of leaving I receive a notification on my phone the parcel was ready to collect, went back and the post office was closed. If you ask a pen to write the address on a letter they tell you to buy one! Today I've been all day at home and the post man didn't even knocked on the door, left a paper and run now I'll probably have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to collect my parcel.
