Monk Fryston Post Office & Stores

This place is a local blessing and every village should have a store and post office like this. Plenty of essentials to choose from and I like the way produce is on display outside the store.

Ham is great, bread can be hit and miss (kept on warm shelf so can be dry and occasionally mouldy). The biggest issue though is service time. There are plenty of staff but they seem to be organised in such a way that they trip up over each other. 20 mins to get a sandwich is not unusual. I leave an hour to walk over and back and if I want the shop and the post office, this is often not enough and I have to leave empty handed to make meetings etc. I think the shop would lose custom if there was another viable option in the village.

Fantastic post office. Cornish pasty was amazing. Clean and friendly well stocked shop.

The opening times in google are for the shop only and the opening times for post office differ, to my disappointment. I live in next village so it’s my closest post office - Thurs, they don’t open until 1300, (caught me out on my last visit). Friday they close at 1300 as I found out to my cost, today. And they don’t open at all on a sat (although the branch locator on post office website, states they do) Now having to wait until next thurs afternoon to collect my parcel as I work in Leeds and start and finish before and after their opening times. I waited until the afternoon to account for any lunch time closure. Ironic thing is I was home all day and could have taken my parcel in, but had it sent to my local post office in case I had to nip out. Frustrated is the word to best describe my two recent visits. Some of my own doing and some from not having splits timings on google

Great service and amazing breakfast sandwiches!

Called today and bought a sausage roll for dinner only to find when i opend the bad most of th pastry was in the bottom as it was dry and in my opinion old.I returned it.and was told it was fresh today(rubish)

Need to update your opening hours because when I’m stood outside a closed shop at 5:45 that’s supposed to be open till 7 I get rather annoyed and I’m sure a few others have been too!
