Pontypridd Post Office

I share lots of the opinions of previous reviewers. For many years this post office USED to have the rudest and most unfriendly staff I have ever had the misfortune to encounter, with the exception of the two male members of staff. However recently there seems to be a total turnover of staff. They are clearly eastern European and exhibit some of the great benefits associated with these people. Every time I have visited the post office they are friendly, courteous and efficient. They are currently working hard, despite the problems, to maintain a basic service for a few hours on most days. Check the website but today (Tuesday) it is 9.30 - 13.00.

Checked website which said PO open Thursday 14th April. Walked down into town to find it closed and a notice on the door. No apologies. Just “Closed.” Checked website again and it showed PO “busier than usual” at 2.30pm today. Really?

Lady behind desk charged me extra for 'guaranteed' next day delivery, 1 week later did it arrive. Second time i said no to next day delivery because it was a waste of time, and yet i still got charged for next day on receipt! Rip off.
Store times are also wrong, they don't open weekends.

Disgusting that they sell fur in this postoffice on Mill Street in Pontypridd . The process of, force feeding and fattening rabbits, to be cruelly killed for their skin/fur is abhorrent.
I will not be banking with the post office again.
Would have thought better of business these days. When I asked for the contact details of the post master, the girls refused to give me any details to raise a concern, so have been left no choice other than to share on here and local sites. I do not expect to be faced with sucj cruel products rammed in my direct line of vision while i queue to put money in. Last time this happens i will be taking it all out.

Good everyday post office with very random extra items on sale. Has age concern located inside.

While dyoor is wide enough for wheelchair and parking available outside or close, lots of steep camberz so can be a bit of a slog if you can't get parking outside, it's not far but steep for nearest parking. The door is Manuel so also an obstacle. Usually busy enough soymeone will hold it open though.

Offer all the standard post office services and staff are polite but often long ques as only post office for a far way and ponty I'd busy town.

Over the many times I had interacted with this Post Office over the years, I had two items that were lost in the post and while some compensation for one of the items was given, it still wasn't the full amount. I tried to contest the practices this Post Office in particular gave me during these incidents, however I barely got the rightful response and solution I expected. The first case, they tried, but then the second time they didn't even bother to go into it. It has been many years since so it could be I didn't have the full receipt for the second item, but I still sadly have a small grudge against this Post Office for their treatment into my missing parcel & letter cases. Also the opening times on this description are often incorrect, and the staff are very hit and miss in terms of being helpful for what we are asking of them.
