Bargoed Post Office

Awful customer service - the rudest woman I have ever encountered, came in at 2:30 to post some parcels internationally for her to complain and mutter under her breath before saying "You know we close at 3!" and continue to complain because I needed proof of postage, even though all my parcels were even labelled needless to say I opted not to post my parcels there although she said she couldn't cancel th transaction for one of them, and it was pointless me leaving as I was already there - I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. If you don't want to help customers with postage don't work at a post office...

If you can go to Ystrad Post Office, go there - the staff are much nicer and very helpful with my parcels all posted in 15 minutes.

My daughter went there today and didn't take enough money for the parcel that needed sending. The woman behind the counter was extremely rude and made my daughter feel awful, embarrassing her in front of the customers standing behind her. My daughter said she would return shortly with more money. The woman said quite nastily that if she didn't hurry up she would rip the label back off. I wish I had gone now to save my daughter being treated this way. I would have had a few choice words to say back, if the woman has spoken to me in the same way as she did my daughter. I will never step foot in that post office ever again! The woman should be ashamed of her self, speaking to a young girl the way she did! 😤

Poor customer service with staff often openly complaining about the inconveniences of having to deal with customers.
I have personally experienced a lack of transparency concerning postage rates, with only the cheapest or most expensive options offered despite there being suitable options in between.
Relatively restrictive opening hours considering the number of communities they now serve.
The building is uncared for, in a state of disrepair with insulation from the ceiling soiling leaflets for the public and a number of dusty unused racks and minimal stock. There is sadly a general malaise about the whole place.
The most concerning issue for me is that the male counter assistant never seems to be wearing a mask (or rather the hanky he keeps around his neck) despite the high number of elderly and 'at risk' patrons who frequent the branch.
Although it means a bus ride for me, I will be using either the Blackwood or Ystrad branches in future.

Excellent customer service from the new owners. Friendly, helpful & welcoming. Such a nice change from the past few years 👌🏼

After months of taking parcels to Bargoed Post Office and having to endure the ridiculous queues, poor customer service and ignorance of the staff, it was a major and welcome surprise this morning to see the shop had brand new owners.

The young lad who served me was incredibly helpful and advised that the family were looking to completely turn the shop around (after the previous owners had neglected it during the past few years) which will be huge for the town as besides Morrison’s, there isn’t really any other shop like it in the town centre.

Before visiting this morning, I was planning on going to a different Post Office from now on so I’m delighted to know the shop is now in much more capable hands.

Really happy visiting the post office with the new owners, very helpful, polite and friendly and a pleasure to deal with. All the best to the new owners I cant wait to see the revamp they're planning

I have always found the staff to be very helpful, since starting my online business they have advised me many times in relation to sending numerous parcels and have suggested the best options available to me. They even helped me sign up to the drop and go service which now saves me so much time and if I have any issues I'm sent a text.
