Go as early as you can to avoid disappointment as winds can get quite strong in the afternoon and trains might not be able to stop at the summit. Wonderful scenery unfolds during the journey. If into hiking, consider taking the train up and hiking down. Trails are clearly marked.

A truly memorable experience. Took the railway as short on time and energy, went on the steam train as opposed to the diesel, thought it would be more romantic, in reality I think the diesel would be far more comfortable and definitely less jolty. The views on the way up and down are amazing only bettered by the view from the top, you really feel your on top of the world, or at least Wales.

The journey along the lake is really boring, but young children might enjoy the novelty. For those without young children you might be better off just walking along the lake. The staff on duty were great, but the staff in the shop? Well they just seemed angry that we walked in and bought something.

Great station, friendly staff. Enjoyed the train ride, amazing views! Parking opposite station a big steep at £8 on top of the £31 ticket cost, but definitely recommend.

This is the railway for the lake not mountain. You can stop at two stations to take photo of the lake and mountain. You can opt to stop at the museum for a visit and walk back to the station which is just 5 min away

Small vintage station. Had a great experience in the diesel powered train. The initial climb felt like going up a rollercoaster which was really good.

Busy spot. Great experience for family of all ages. Worth paying for the train ride towards Snowdown. Highlight of out visit to North Wales. Book on line as I doubt in the peak times you could turn up and get a ticket.

Love the look,the train and the views. We didn't book the tickets in advance this time so struggled to get the train of our choice. Book in advance . The summit is still under construction so it was a little disappointing. Book one way if you can and enjoy the views from top of the mountain if you can as you only get 30 mkns with return ticket on the train and that is not enough.
