City Property Centre

I have been happy dealing with City Property Centre to rent a lovely room in a pleasant houseshare in Norwich. The procedure was uncomplicated and straightforward. The agent is professional and acts very promptly when there is an issue. When the boiler stopped working, he immediately contacted a handyman who was in the house fixing the problem in less than an hour. The agent also told me to contact the agency at any time even if it is weekend. This is so reassuring and so rare!

Do not use City Property Centre!! These people take advantage of students! They scammed me out of hundreds of pounds and let an unofficial tenant live on a property for a year without signing a contract in order for them to withhold the deposit that they were SUPPOSED to pay me back. I emailed and called countless times and was ignored or fobbed off every time. I have been waiting for almost a YEAR after finding a replacement tenant for CPC to send me the Tenancy Surrender form to sign so I could be free from the contract and get my deposit back, and they never sent it. I have lost money I couldn’t afford to lose.
Rather than pay me my deposit back, in order to scare me off they have threatened me with having to pay rent for another tenant despite me never having lived in the property, they have blamed other parties, and stopped all communication- they are stringing me along until the end of the tenancy so they legally don’t have to give me my deposit back. City Property Centre intentionally make communication with them completely impossible so they can get away with their scam. The property of Marian’s in question also had lots of things poor quality and unusable- e.g. gates and windows not shutting properly, malfunctioning and smelly drainage system.

If I could give it no stars I would. Do not choose this agency let this be a warning. Super inefficient, when we moved in the sink and washing machine looked like it was ripped from the walls. No functioning shower, light broken, cracked floors. The list could go on.

Choose somewhere else!

Ghosted me for weeks becausr apparently the landlord was away, but didn't bother to tell me that, then sent the tenancy agreement at 6pm the day before the start date, a friday, with the other housemates going home for Christmas that weekend so not way for me to actually move in before I also went away for Christmas because they couldn't be bothered to arrange the key handover.

Avoid them at all costs.
If they can right the situation I will give them a better review, if not I wilk write a more detailed one.

Marian has been looking after my buy-to-let property for a while now, he has found me several good tenants and is always very professional. I wouldn’t use anyone else.

The gentleman who helped me get things sorted in such a short amount of time was amazing! Dropped off the keys on his day off as it looks aswell, totally would recommend this company for letting.
