Dove Studio

Both of my children have had piano lessons with Phil, one child started at eight years of age for about one year and learned how to read music and also had an experience of performing in the studio's show. Then came back at thirteen and now has a passion for Piano and other instruments! My younger child is excited about music after being introduced to myriad instruments at Dove St. Studios! Phil is kind, thoughtful, supportive, and talented. And he kept me up to speed as to how they were doing and how they could improve! And I would recommend him to other parents!

My daughter is in her 2nd year at Dove Studios having started at the age of 10 and my son has asked for lessons for his birthday, having been given some taster sessions, he will be starting in September. He has encouraged her development in music, in all areas of theory and practise. His style is so attractive to all children of any age, he gives them end to end understanding of music, both live and producing and recording. He gives them the space to find their strength with a selection of instruments and singing. To top it off, parents aren't left out, they are able to enjoy in their children's learning at the summer concert at the end of every year, Such a FANTASTIC TEACHER!

The best environment for children to learn music in a relaxed atmosphere. They get to experiment with different instruments, interact with other children, they can have an experience in performing live in a band, recording and study hard for music exams under Phil's guidance.

My daughter has really enjoyed her piano lessons with Phil. His studio is a great place to visit and has a happy atmosphere, where my daughter through Phil's tuition passed her grade one Jazz piano. To our amazement our shy daughter has done two live performances where she has sang and played other instruments in a small band of other children, all of which Phil organises and supports. I highly recommend Phil and his Dove studio.

Guitar lessons was a retirement present to myself. I have been having guitar lessons with Phil for nearly 3 years and he has encouraged me through grades 1 to 5 for both music theory and rock school guitar exams. Phil is an excellent teacher and Dove studio is the perfect setting to learn how to play, record and have fun trying to sing. Also we get the to collaborate with fellow pupils both for the live annual summer concert and for the winter recording sessions. Its a super experience and I'd recommend it to anyone, both young and old.

My daughter is into her third year at Dove studio. Phil has been instrumental in building up her confidence in use of piano and singing. She gets the chance to mingle with other kids and perform in front of an audience. I would highly recommend to those interested in learning music.

Would highly recommend Dove Studios. My son enjoys his piano lessons, but it's great that students are encouraged to have a go at other instruments. As a result, he is also a pretty good drummer and singer now too!

Lessons are always fun and it's especially good when the students jam together and perform.

Phil is an excellent teacher!

My 18 year old son did his first ever recording here . Phil was brilliant in helping him and accompanying him and I really enjoyed sipping tea, cuddling the dog and listening. Can't recommend this studio and Phil highly enough!
