Stayed over at the Hunters Lodge as part of a Paddleboarding trip along the River Soar. Lovely place to stay. We were well impressed. The rooms are nice, the food was nice and the staff there are fantastic. Particular thanks to Gavin who called me to let me know that I had accidentally left my house keys behind in the my room and then actually drove down the road to give them to me! What a star! ⭐

This place is even nicer inside & the outside is impressive. The food was great & the pie was full of meat & flavour & the Brushcetta is sooooooo good, not like anything I've had before. The staff were very welcoming & friendly & they let us choose where we wanted to sit (I'm in a wheelchair but there was no difficulty) they have a big disabled toilet & everywhere was fully accessible. We'll definitely be back the food is really good value & you get complimentary bowls of vegetables & chips or potatoes. Can't fault it.

We went months ago and I was the worst meal we gave ever had, the gamon was over cooked and had balsamic vinegar all over every thing, the chips on it looked reheated and were hard and cold, the other dish was stake witch had balsamic vinegar all over the plate too, the steak was like rubber and the chips were the same as the other dish, we checked the menu and there was no mention of the balsamic vinegar on it, we both left the food and told them we wouldn't pay for the food as it was not eatable, so we only paid for the drinks and had to go elsewhere to eat. So we would recommend you avoid this place.

Called in after learning they had reopened. WOW what a difference, staff great and food absolutely fantastic. We are going to keep this place as our special treat place - many thanks to the new owner and new chef.

OMG the best boxing day meal we have ever had. Great food, nothing was to much trouble for the very friendly staff. We will definitely be going again & again.

A group of us had a fabulous lunch on Boxing Day the food was great and the staff and service were exceptional for such a large group of us we will deffo go back again and can highly recommend
