From top notch check in to very good food, both dinner and breakfast, this was a very nice one night stay with friends. Plenty of free car parking, all situated at the start of Hayling Island. Some nice walks around the harbour with a pit stop at The Ship Inn pub.

We had 2 nights stay here, staff were excellent, the room was tidy and warm, we ate in as on a dinner bed and breakfast deal, food very tasty and presented well for diner although the service was slow, buffet breakfast plenty of choice.

Nice hotel small amounts of t.l.c. needed. Decoration to columns in dining room and the smell of musty carpet in the bar which seems to come from the adjoining corridor. Rooms were very good except for the wardrobe doors and cupboard drawers not sliding smoothly and the wall safe in our room was not secured properly. We found the staff helpful and attentive with the odd exception their attention to detail was sometimes lacking. Bar cover attendance was lacking sometimes together with clearing and cleaning of tables. Meet and greet in the dining room was a bit hit and miss, breakfast staff did not monitor food levels, spillages and temperature control which was a pity as the quality of the food was very good and when it was warm it was very nice. Evening meals were very good quality however some attention to detail was lacking again with the odd accompaniment missing or where warmed bakewell tart came cold. The placing of cutlery on tables by some staff holding spoon face fork prongs and knife blade was off putting. This could be a very nice hotel but does need someone to look at the details and rectify these errors before they become worse.

Good food, although most vegetables were inedible. Desserts were fabulous. Breakfast standard hotel buffet, not much choice for vegetarians. Rooms comfortable and clean, bathroom particularly dated. Swimming pool and spa areas very good. Most staff quite friendly but seemed to choose who to chat to, and it wasn't us!

A little more attention to detail required, quality of food and the way it's cooked not comparable with the price. Also, an unusual choice to serve a pie with gravy and other dishes on a slate/board. Young waitress was very attentive however, and really did everything she could to make our visit pleasant.

It is very deceptive as fron the outside it would not be a place to choose but the inside is a great surprise. From well trained staff to high quality of foods offered to the spa facilities that are offered
Would highly recommend and the island has its interesting points as well

Lovely Christmas break with my husband. I can't fault the hotel, spa, food or staff, they were super helpful and friendly.
The room was clean, the shower was great. Perfect location for walking. 100% recommended.

We have stayed at the Langstone and did enjoy our stay then. So we decided to book again for 1 night as we were visiting our family. We arrived at 12oc which we new would be to early to check into our room, and that's were it all started to go wrong,we were asked to pay gor our which we did and was told that our bags would be in our room when we get back later in the evening, but lo and behold our bag was still behind the desk,we were ask to pay again but told them we had already paid,we were then allocated our room and of we go to find it,when we did find it the door was wide open and a pike of dirty towels was on the floor,so we go back to reception to complain,so they phone the manager who tells use we were given the wrong room, and he has inspected our new room,we'll he must have had rose tinted glasses on as the room was filthy the sink the bathroom had the last guests toothpaste around the bowl, the paper was peeling of the walls, and the carpets were badly stained. So the next morning we asked for the manager to meet us in our room but he was not available and they couldn't contact him how convenient was that for him that his own staff can't contact him. Please ask to see your room before paying,it's a disgrace.
