Went for Brunch here a few weeks ago. What seems a simple menu however is executed in a really excellent manner. Definitely one of the best brunch places locally if not in South East London. The baked eggs are really good. The portion sizes are very generous for the price. Lovely staff and great atmosphere. I really like the interior design. It feels very comfortable and could easily while away a few hours here.

Scrumptious brunch options - my favourite is the baked eggs but we tried the savoury pancakes last weekend and they were perfect if you are in the mood for something decadent. Great atmosphere, tasty coffee - the dinner service is also top notch so nice to have a new favourite local spot for any weekend cravings. Will be back often!

We had an absolutely delicious meal for an average price! I recommend the fish sharing platter, the baked aubergine and the rabbit! The atmosphere was cosy and the staff was super friendly. Thank you to the chef Maya for her stunning creations!

Didn't live up to its status, sadly. Went for Sunday lunch. The restaurant itself could improve in a few areas: firstly they could provide menus for customers instead of writing it on a chalk board which should really be for specials only. Although as there were only roasts on offer, this might be superfluous so perhaps the menu could be expanded as well. Also, they make customers order at the bar when there's no need for this and they should provide table service like regular restaurants do. Finally, there are probably a few too many tables in the space, so that you're sitting very closely to others especially if there are two of you, it's all a bit too cramped and not the most comfortable. The tight space also makes ordering at the bar less practical if customers are getting up.

There were no starters available. The roast itself was mostly good. The vegetables were nice with some strong flavours added such as fennel seeds which might not be to everyone's taste. The roast beef was very nice in between the sinew, but there was a lot of gristle that had to be left on the plate. Could also have done with a sharp knife to cut the beef.

Tea was very good.

I wouldn't go back based on this experience, but if it ironed out a few of these creases it would be a very nice place to have dinner.

Such a lovely place! The owner Babette and her lovely staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food! It's so tasty and the sharing boards and other starters/mains are all reasonably priced as well. You can enjoy all the quirky bits and pieces in the place - from the cutlery, plates, tea strainers to the vintage collection displayed in the shelving. All of my friends I took to this place ended up being huge fans of the place.

Went for a Sunday roast with 3 friends.

Pros: lovely atmosphere; good drinks selection with some local brews thrown in too; delicious roast (I had the mixed plate); huge portion. They are also dog friendly.

Cons: food took about 45 minutes to arrive; one of our party opted for the small chicken roast and it was TINY. The vegetables, Yorkshire puddings etc were a great portion but the meat serving was only half a chicken breast! Not good value. Wouldn't recommend getting the smaller plates - perhaps they are meant to be for kids.

Would still come back and hope for quicker service!

Best roast this side of the river, without a doubt. Meat is the best quality, never dry or over done. Unlike most roasts, the vegetables are never over cooked, but full of flavour. The sharing platters are great too. During the day it's a very friendly place to grab coffee and lunch with babies/children.
