A lovely relaxing place to eat or drink with stunning views through the glass ceiling. Reasonable prices and good quality food on offer. All round a great experience.

Wonderful setting and not busy mostly, but slightly expensive as compared to other places, but feels good to see the spire above.

Had lunch here after a visit to the cathedral. There are tables out in the cloister but I ate inside. They do soup, sandwiches and light meals as well as cakes and cream teas. Counter service was quick despite the café being busy and the food was not too expensive. Had a vegetable quiche with green salad, tomatoes and red cabbage. The quiche was more warm than hot but it was tasty and the pot of tea was good and strong. Admiring the architecture of the cathedral through the glass roof while I ate was a great bonus! There's a nice shop at the far end of the café where you can get stained glass paperweights, tapestries, jewellery and other gifts and toys inspired by the cathedral, as well as some interesting books.

This restaurant has one of the best views in the country - straight up to the spire of the Cathedral. Try the excellent home made soups and eccles cakes.

Had a pleasant coffee and cake here while waiting for an organ recital in the main part of the cathedral. The refectory is a modern structure tucked between the cathedral and the cloisters (outdoor seating in the cloisters) it has a glass roof which allows you to view the cathedral in all its glory.

Good thing was the tea! That was a really good pot of tea. Not much selection of food, mainly left were toasties. Was a bit disappointed with staff as they seemed unwelcoming and couldn't be bothered. The lady who took our order even walked away from our son who has autism whilst he was giving her his order which we felt was very rude. The cream tea was ok, sons lunch box was ok. Nice place to sit and have a cuppa after a wander round the grounds.
