Fantastic authentic restaurant with great wine selection. We loved every bit of it from the first minute to the last. Great food, great service, perfect timing. Can’t find any fault. Looking forward for our next visit

Visited yesterday for the first time and was very impressed. Menu not extensive but everything tried was very delicious. Service was excellent (from, I suspect, the owner) will try a different wine next time but will be there again soon.

Whilst the food is ok the service has a lot of improvements to be made. The lady taking the drinks order didn’t seem to know what a shandy was. I asked for a shandy and what lagers they have. Ask for a peroni shandy. When it came it was just a Peroni so I asked if it was a shandy and she replied no I asked for a Peroni to which I said yes a Peroni shandy and the confusion was clear to be seen. When we got in and given the menus I ask if they do a Childress menu to which she said no but they can make spaghetti in a tomato sauce which would be fine but when the bill came we had been charged £13 for it. Overall a lot of improvements could be made.

Absolutely terrible restaurant, the service was slow and indifferent, the menu is basic and limited and the food we received was an insult.

I chose the mixed grill for main, which at £22, I was expecting something decent. What arrived was a greasy, limited amount of beef steak which had been cut in half from a full portion, a lamb chop and a sausage. This was accompanied by slices of greasy pan fried courgette and just three potato wedges.

The food was bland with hardly any seasoning and there was no salt and pepper on the table.

We finished our portions in minutes and left feeling very cheated.

The fact that Lichfield was so busy that evening and yet this restaurant was basically empty was a warning sign we should have taken notice of.

I always prefer to support local independent restaurants when possible but this was outrageous. The owners need to have a rethink on the whole service.

Three of us had three different starters (nibbles they call them) and three different mains and all were excellent. Will definitely go there again. Lovely food.
