We've visited Bank House Brasserie in Sturminster Newton on a couple of occasions. Our last visit was cloaked in secrecy as I planned to propose to my girlfriend in the company of a small group of our closest friends.

Dawn, Ollie and the team at Bank House were brilliant in making sure it was the perfect evening. Great food, good beer and wines served by wonderful hosts......what more can you ask for.

BTW.......She said yes!

A year after my last review and still fabulous.
This evening had tapas and a wonderful bottle of Shiraz shared with my mother in law who had a steak. Plates were clean so must have been good.
Lovely decor and atmosphere. Need to work my way through the wine list.

I had the best rump steak ever...having been to most countries around the world.
The staff are so friendly too..
5 star chef who knows how to cook a great steak.
Back again for another steak next week.
I am on a steak diet now. 😋

The BEST tapas we’ve ever had. Freshly prepared, authentic - chicken rillettes to die for! Owners friendly, welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Can’t wait to go there again!

Outstanding food and excellent service in a cosy and unpretentious setting. The staff were friendly and attentive and clearly passionate about the food. We ordered tapas, and every dish was delicious, with the chorizo bruschetta and prawns being the standouts! Lovely evening, highly recommend.

The atmosphere here was great. Our waiter apologised for being short staffed - in fact the staff were very attentive and timely. However the wait for food was rather long. 45 minutes from seating to food being served. That was ok for us. However the food was nothing special. Tapas dishes are generally pretty standard and for example the patatas bravas was ok - what you would expect. We ordered 2 specials. Both were very small for the price paid. One was hake balls with a nice sauce. But 5 pieces for just short of 10 pounds isn’t great. A prawns skewer with 3 prawns and 3 mini sausages, served cold wasn’t too good either. Equally the other plates were on the small tapas end of the spectrum. We were out for a celebration meal so didn’t want to make a fuss but we get better food, for less money in a number of tapas restaurants in London. It’s ok. But nothing special.

This place is great ... actually why am I telling you this, because I want to get in without booking! Great tapas, excellent drinks and very welcoming staff.

Popped in here again tonight. Hadn't realised I never did a review. Hard to believe this place was once the Nat West. Now a fab brasserie.
Platter boards available. Very trendy and interesting location. Interesting selection of ales and shorts, had some good fun night in here .Definitely worth a visit if you like trying new venues. Lovely staff, friendly, helpful and on the ball. Parking available behind the museum.
Will add some photos at a later date :-)
