Comie's Caribbean Grill

I used to visit the Cowley restaurant regularly for takeaway and was so pleased when the Witney restaurant opened up. The food is really tasty and relatively authentic and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. I have ordered deliveries a couple of times in Witney during lockdown and whilst I cannot fault the food or service I am put off by the environmentally unfriendly packaging which is why I have only awarded 4/5 stars. Polystyrene + cling film + plastic bag = non-recyclable waste. Plant-based or cardboard packaging would be more sustainable & encourage more business (at least from myself)

(UPDATE) Recieved a call from them saying that they were busy and out of stock on everything in our order. I've risen the stars rating because we got a call from them. But waiting 2 hours to receive a call to be told they are out of stock and we won't get our food is bad service.
If service improves then I will update my revise. FYI the food is amazing but just a really poor show tonight.

(1)Didnt deliver food when they said they would and wouldnt pick up the phone after endless attempts to enquire about the whereabouts of the food.
Did not reciece our food.
Any update or rectification of this issue and I will update with a positive review... I'm waiting on the staff.

Ordered the large jerk chicken and was very disappointed. for £12 I was expecting maybe 3-4 pieces of chicken but I received 2 pieces of very boney chicken and LOTS of rice. Like way too much rice for the amount of chicken I got.
Also no spice if the sauce. A real shame

Takeaway was disappointing. Ordered a large portion of curry goat, which just seems to mean extra rice. Not much goat, and most of that was bone. Chicken wings were alright with plenty of flavour, but the fish fritters didn't seem to have much fish either. Won't be trying again.

Omg ordered for the first time. 2 pieces of fried chicken, jerk chicken and one portion of chips.. Charged £29 pound something! thinking wth??>It came to £17 something, on line website. Told can't do a refund so we said cancel order No food and waiting for delivery driver to give us a cash refund!!!! How do these reject business keep running????? Surly its not legal to say one price on website and then charge you more!!!!

Fantastic bottomless brunch food and service were amazing hats off to Kesi and Rhys for looking after us and for some brilliant cocktail skills!

Had delivery twice now. Lamb has loads of bone not much meat. Loads of rice and veg to make up for lack of meat. Mac and cheese tastless and plain. Chicken wings tasty sauce but dry chicken. Very disappointed.

Just got home from going there with my partner, it was fantastic. Its so different to anywhere else in Witney and is not badly priced especially for what you get. The service was quick and friendly and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
