Visited on 13 August 2016 for the first time, with friends. Verdict - Excellent!
I had the Fillet steak, my wife had the Whole Plaice. Both were superb.
I cannot fault the service, the location, or the decor, it was all great.
But the food, well that was just outstanding.
M Manley.

Fabulous menu. The food was superb. Generous portions and beautifully cooked and served. Staff very pleasant and friendly. 5 star without the 5 star prices and what a view from the large windows to the estuary and the lakeland hills. 👍👍

Service, view and food faultless!
We had a wonderful meal to mark a special occasion and we weren't disappointed. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys delicious food and a happy, relaxed setting. Thank you for making it a wonderful evening. Mr and Mrs Brookfield

Really good food, nice veiw and nice staff. If you like creamy sauce and mashrooms you must try the chicken supreme its really good. The only problem it's in the middle of no where.

I went there 2 months ago when I visited and got the chicken supreme. I couldn't crave a better dish. It was sooo delicious, I could eat it everyday and wish I knew the recipe...defo the best in the area

Good view and staff were friendly. Unfortunately the food was not good. The duck starter was tough and chewy, and the chicken supreme was also very tough (seemed like it had been sitting under a heat lamp or something so it dried out). Peppercorn sauce wasn't peppery. Fish was ok, but prawns were tasteless.
The best parts of the meal were the crispy hen's egg and the new potatoes, while the carrots appeared to have been bought pre-cut which meant they were dry.
Just pretty disappointing, to be honest :( The rest of the customers were retirees, so it may appeal to different tastes, as shown by many good reviews.

We visited The Kingfisher this evening 30.6.2021 to celebrate 🍾our wedding anniversary. The food was very very good as was the service and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It was our first visit but won't be the last.
