I hate to leave a bad review of any place but I have to based on my experience of here. Nice enough place but the atmosphere was a little bit drab, something just felt a bit off. We only ordered one main but it took an hour to come. The marinated olives were delicious so it gets a point for that. However the main, which was the seafood paella was far from enjoyable.

Our food literally had not been seasoned, someone forgot to add any salt to it so that in itself is going to destroy any dish. The actual produce was overcooked/had absolutely no taste. The paella was complete overcooked into a mushy soup. Honestly if we didn't have somewhere else to go to I would have made more of a fuss, especially when the bill was quite pricey.

We stayed in New Hutton and drove the few miles up the road to visit here after the excellent reviews. We were not disappointed! We had the paella, which was absolutely delicious and so flavoursome, and the trio of mini desserts which were beautiful too. Drinks were good value for money and there was lots of choice. An intimate place, perfect for home cooked, delicious food with lots of flavour. Staff were very attentive, friendly and pleasant! Certainly would want to go back there if we are in the area.

Last minute booking and Wow!!!
Heard lots of good things so decided to try for ourselves... We had crusty bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar... My partner had buffalo mozzarella to start and daube of beef with green beans a creamed potato.. I had the crab toasts then onglet steak with fries and roasted vegetables... Too full for dessert and the house savignon blanc was very good
Top marks will definitely return

Atmosphere is very relaxed and informal. Has a very bohemian feel. Can see myself stopping by just as easily for a drink and a snack or a full meal.

On our visit we shared a starter and a veggie paella.

The food was superb as was the service.

We were notified of any expected delays with our food so are expectations were fully managed. At the same time staff were always very friendly. Some of the friendliest service and staff I’ve encountered.

The paella was lovely and definitely needs to be shared between two. The first bite left the wife feeling that paella needed salt (everything always needs more salt) but after a couple more she had changed her mind.

My only regret was visiting at the end of a 2 week stint of restaurant visits! This meant I felt full before I even sat down!

Would return again to enjoy the food and atmosphere.

I recommend both the establishment and the paella.

Living locally I had heard good things and was excited to eat here for my friends birthday. Sadly I was very disappointed as it did not live up to my expectations. I ordered the seafood risotto, however all I could taste was gherkins due to so many being included in the dish. These were not listed on the menu and completely overpowered the dish. It is quite expensive and for £20 per dish I would expect a lot more. Unfortunately I think the worst part of the evening was the service. A very rude Woman (owner I think) served us and made comments under her breath throughout our dinner. She proceeded to complain that we had left food due to being too full and scraped all of our leftovers on to one plate whilst stood at our table. This went on a good few minutes and I thought this was very unprofessional and made me and my friends very uncomfortable. There was a young girl serving and a man on the bar who were friendly, however this woman really let the place down and ruined our evening. I didn’t order a dessert as I didn’t want to stay being made to feel so uncomfortable by her throughout our evening. Really disappointed. They don’t deserve customers with the owner being so rude.

Great food, we had mixed paella and an excellent, owner recommended dry white wine.
Couldn't finish it all and took some home for lunch the following day.
Book ahead and you will not be disappointed.
