Really nice location with a walk close by to burn all the extra calories you've just eaten. The food was great and the prices were not bad either, worth paying a visit, would highly recommend.

I was greeted with a warm welcome by the owner. The service was quick and the food was perfect. Couldn't fault the restaurant in the slightest. Would definitely recommend and i'll come back again and again. Love this place. The staff are wonderful too!

Nice location but can be expensive. Two latte coffees and two strawberry tarts cost £15. !!! Will go again but minus the tarts. 😅

Updated 2nd visit. Well, we called in for couple of coffees while out for a run. 11/9/22 . One latte and one flat white. Cost £3.50 each. 😲 Both arrived very pale in colour and just tasted of warm milk. 🤔 We had to return them .....and that's a first for us !! 😡

The replacements were better but no small biscuit or piece of shortbread to justify the £3.50 cost or the inconvenience of being initially given a pair of very sub standard coffees. ☹️ customer service somewhat lacking at the most basic of levels.

You can see from the photos, the difference in colours, never mind the taste. It's also worth noting the cup size..

Were we impressed ? Certainly not !!!

Incredibly slow service. From the moment of receiving menus to receiving food was over an hour. Waiting hungry being bitten by midges wasn't fun at all. Food was OK but nothing exceptional that would make me to come back, overpriced too.

This fantastic place has very interesting history. The food was fantastic 😋. We've had a cullen skink soup; Haggis and black pudding croquettes, salmon/cream cheese panini and hunters chicken.
We'll definitely recommend it to customers visiting us! Great to see local business thriving 👏

We arrived at 1, a party of six adults and 2 children, expecting a nice pre Christmas family meal, as we had eaten there several times before and always been satisfied with the fare. At 2.20 I asked if the meal was going to take much longer as the six year old twins were complaing about hunger and becoming restless. I was told there was a shortage of staff and the place was busy. At around 2.35 we did get served with the children's meals coming last.
The boy's sausage, chips and beans arrived as sausage, chips and peas. (He loves beans and hates peas) This was rectified without fuss. The turkey meals were covered totally in a dark overpowering gravy (either too much salt or gravy seasoning) which had to be scraped off to make the nicely cooked turkey edible. When we expressed our opinion on the gravy to the lady in charge she told us no one else had complained about this before on that day. Fair enough I suppose...
The puddings came with the sticky toffee pudding being inedible and when this was pointed out she said 'sorry'.
The coffee went down really well and helped to warm me up a little for the journey home. With a bill of well over two hundred pounds including drinks of which there were several , considering the time we waited, we left feeling dissatisfied, disappointed and cold. It was a very cold day and the heating was barely on.

This place might be remote but it is a busy place. It is wonderful to have a restaurant near the Cairn o'Mount. When I arrived they were fully booked but the lady granted me an hour to enjoy something to eat. They have a wide variety if dishes and some very tempting cakes. I was delighted to get the opportunity to be here. I would certainly say if you plan to come to book in advance otherwise you may have to sit outside. I had the full breakfast which was lovely and the prices are very reasonable. One final comment is that the staff were very pleasant and I managed my food well within the hour.
