The White House

A warm welcome to a renovated country house, set back from the road with plenty of parking. Dinner was being served when we arrived and customers were leaving saying how full they were. Good chef and selection of wines and other drinks. The host is happy to chat and all the staff are polite and friendly.
Our room was upstairs, the beds gave us a good night’s sleep and the room was large with chair and plenty of hanging space. En-suite with a shower over the bath, sink and toilet. The bathroom was very clean.
Breakfast was served in the dining area, lots of tea ( a pot each) or coffee, toast and croissants, cereals, and then a substantial full English breakfast, two thick rashers of bacon, two sausages, two eggs and half a tomato. All included in the room price, which was very reasonable.

We dropped in here from the shear cliffs of the 4 waterfall walk for a bite to eat, unfortunately we were just after lunch, but not to disheartened, as we kept seeing people park up, further investigation we found they were there for the cake. Let me say, we were not disappointed! Staff were really welcoming, tentive and just blimming lovely! The atmosphere felt comfortable and when u get that with the service provided, you know you'll be back. Thank you. Cake was delicious!

Where pet friendly means exactly that! Our well behaved dog was made as welcome as we were, allowed in the public places of the hotel, and enjoyed lots of fuss from the owners and staff. Unlike most places, where pet friendly usually means pets are tolerated.The accommodation was clean and comfortable, with the decor very tasteful. The lounge was set out with comfortable sofas and chairs and the dining areas clean and welcoming. The hosts Adrian and Bryan are friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble for them. The food was delicious and very well presented, and reasonably priced. If there was one complaint about our 4 night stay, it is the lack of a shaver point in the beautiful ensuite bathroom. This hotel is set in beautiful countryside with stunning views, and is really worth a visit, whether for a meal, cream tea or stay, you will not be disappointed!

I didn’t stay here but I had such a positive experience with the manager and groundsman that I had to write a review. My car overheated and I limped it into the car park, within 5 minutes the manager came out offering us any help we needed of which was water and a pair of pliers. We was back on the road in about 20 minutes instead of waiting at least 2 hours for breakdown recovery. I live in Reading, Berkshire but will definitely consider staying here on my next holiday. Three of us had our Sunday lunch in the White House with a view to booking a big family lunch later in the month and we weren’t disappointed. The food was beautiful, beef pork and chicken followed by the most delicious desserts. I am sure our 16 strong London family will be most impressed.

When the last of the rooms have been brought up to date this is going to be a most memorable place to stay. Brian and Adrian lead a terrific team in their own unique way. The food is wonderful always served with a smile and there's always something to look at. Stop for a meal there and you'll see what I mean. Great centre to explore the Brecon Beacons.

We had a fantastic lunch here. So full of character. We haven't stayed but hope to soon. Really made us welcome. You have to come & meet the giraffe!

Beautiful food, cooked to perfection. Artistic and good quality. Excellent, friendly service. Will visit again. (Restaurant only so didn't see rooms but good decor)
