Ordered:
Chicken Butterfly,
Fries
Corn on Cob
Bottomless Coca Cola
Food is standard Nandos - mediocre at best. Chicken was dry - as a result it was very hard. Fries and Corn were good.
If it's only for food, i'd rather skip Nandos anywhere in the world any day.
Cutlery looks well used (probably close to expiry date) - does not inspire confidence in eating with the cutlery.
Well worth the visit for the location and the excellent service provided by the staff.
The staff at Nando's Cardiff (Mermaid Quay) were very friendly and welcoming. Although the restaurant was full, we received our order quickly. If the weather is good, I would recommend sitting outdoors as the view is good.
My issue was the service for takeaway. It was takeaway only when I went, I ordered online for click and collect. Should've been fine. On my arrival, it took 5 minutes for the guy at the front of house to even acknowledge me because he was too busy chatting to a friend about girls in hotel rooms. I eventually gave my order number which wasn't ready yet, so I waited. There was no organisation as to where you were supposed to wait, and given the amount of orders they were churning there was quite the crowd unable to distance.
Whilst waiting, a child attended to collect an order and the guy "serving" asked to see the order on a device before he could hand it over. The child left to go get her mums phone, fine. A staff member inside then yelled at the guy at the front that he had to check the order on a phone before he handed to a child, to which the guy shouted back 'I did!' in the stroppiest tone whilst rolling his eyes. It doesn't sound like much, but when you were there and saw this exchange it was completely unprofessional. He continued to blab to his mate whilst orders were being prepared.
Hopefully indoor dining will resume as normal and that type of service will end. At least with indoor dining open, you may be able to take a seat while you wait for a click and collect or at least get a friendlier server.
Food honestly was great. Chips and coleslaw were on form. The sunset burger had a lot of flavour, really moist chicken thighs. The only other good thing about collecting was that you were offered sauces, napkins etc to take with you.
