Turned up with no reservation but they were lovely on that.
Very friendly, cosy pub, with a brilliant beer garden with views to the river.
Staff really friendly and helpfull.
Still lots of improvement oportunities, food wise.
The pricies are in the frame of the area but the portions sizes and the quality need to get to a better level.
If coming back I won't bother with the calamari (£8) or the lump of "cooking chorizo" they put on the board also a bit more bread for two people would help.
I would like to come back in a few weeks time a see they have matured the ideas, because it is a lovely pace with lovely people.

Nice pub by the river. We booked a deluxe double with a scenic view. Unfortunately the room was not a deluxe double by any standard. Very small and the bathroom needed updating. Also no proper storage and the scenic view was a view of the carpark. It was clean and tidy though. However, with that said, the food and the friendly staff more than made up for the sub-par accommodation, and they are very dog friendly too. Breakfast the next day was fantastic and the chef/waiter (Connor??) was lovely, he even cooked our dog a sausage for her breakfast. I had a sneak peek at room 4 (we stayed in room 3) and was a much nicer room with a river view, so next time we stay, I will be requesting that room. All in all a lovely stay.

Warm welcome but confusion reigned.
Food was sparse and unappetising. Salad was warm and Calamari the smallest thinnest I’ve every seen. Chips were over cooked and bordering on burnt and soggy and greasy. Honestly cannot recommend

Lovely setting, nice pub, nice food, small portions and not as tasty as it was 3 owners ago though (I had the calamari starter and you could still taste flour in the batter which looked anaemic) and on that basis over priced. Generally a nice place though.

Very nice place, situated in a beautiful part of the country, next to the river. the food was nice. The beer garden is pleasant on a sunny day.

Place is a little hotch botch with litter strewn about the grounds.service from young staff excellent, but the food appears to be hit and miss my pork dinner was lovely especially the gravy, but my husband ordered the sea bass which was small and chewy, this was served with greens and potatoes,,it would have benefitted by some kind of sauce at £17 ahead he was left feeling hungry.
No loo paper in the ladies had to rummage in the cupboard that was left open to find some. But lovely views of the old Iron Bridge.

Having just stayed for two nights in this pub we would thoroughly recommend it. The room we had was small, but clean and functional with views of the river. All staff were helpful and friendly. The main positive feature though was the food. The meals we had on both evenings were superb - beautifully cooked, seasoned and presented. The breakfasts on both mornings were also excellent and cooked to order. All this, added to the fact that our dog was also welcome, means it is definitely somewhere we would like to return
