The Station Grill

We dined at this lovely restaurant on 20th July 2022, for a family meal/catch up. My hubby and I were on holiday from Scotland, met up with his sister and his 2 daughters. We all had a lovely meal, lovely attentive staff, great location, lovely airy interior, beautiful views! And the lovely waitress even took some group photos of us,at our request! I'd definitely revisit! Thanks so much!

Place was quite nice, staff were friendly however that's where it ended. I had prawn cocktail, the worst thing I have ever tasted. My partner ordered fish and chips which he couldn't eat. Fish was soaked, and I mean soaked in oil, it came served upside down and when I turned it over I tried to soak oil up with serviette.....chips were not cooked. I had an ice cream which was divine and asked for two more wafers and was promptly told that they are 25p each. I said forget it, however my partner said order 4 which we did and they weren't forthcoming. Not angry at staff at all they were helpful. I did tell the staff that fish was too oily and couldn't eat it. Sorry was all I got. Boss was in the kitchen. Dreadful!!

All pub food should be like this!
Proper chips, generous portions, varied menu, lovely food, presented well, the best meal out I've had in a long time, just wish it was closer to home for us.
Also the young woman on shift was amazing! Not only did she serve in the restaurant and bar but she was also coordinating with emergency services the night we were there and reassuring customers because of an incident outside the premises.

Lovely place. Roast dinner was so tasty and a good plateful, caters for vegetarians and vegans. Good choice of beverages on tap and reasonable prices.

Stopped here to change the baby on a long drive, found the smell of delicious food too tempting.
Kids meals had a brilliant selection for fussy kids. Great value, lovely home-made chips. Good sized portions and everything tasted amazing, staff were lovely and atmosphere was good.

Fantastic food some of the best I've had in a while, service from the young girl was amazing. Atmosphere was a bit dead, we were the only ones in the restaurant when we went but the bar side was busy with a football game on.

Absolutely topnotch food. Minted lamb burgers with brie on top - best lamb burgers ever had. To finish the meal with neopolitan sundae. Very friendly atmosphere and great service 👍
