I love a roast dinner. I mean I LOVE a roast dinner…
The Plough and Harrow is the best pub roast. Pure and simple. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Right from the starters… which were beautifully presented & flavourful, the tone was set.

We had the Welsh lamb & the pork. Both meats just melted & the flavour was incredible! Stunning roast potatoes & a special shout out to the parsnips with a little magic twist. The stuffing, the crackling, the veg… it’s the complete package.

If you’re in South Wales, this is the place to go for a Sunday roast. If you’re not in South Wales, go.

My only negative critique is on the dessert side of things: the base of the Lemon Meringue tart was disappointing. While the lemon meringue had that balance of sweet and tangy, the base was tough & somewhere between cardboard and plastic & sadly ruins a really nice dessert. However… the clotted fudge ice cream is a must!

The pub itself is light, fresh & inviting. The staff were lovely, friendly & very patient with my overly excited and indecisive partner. Though with a menu that is simply mouth watering, it’s hard to be decisive.
We are really looking forward to going back.

What a gem of a pub. Superb quality food and friendly staff. Two courses for £18 for food of this quality for daytime meals is a bargain not to be missed. If we lived nearby this would be a regular venue. Two well kept cask ales and quality wines by the glass instead of the usual limited choice of standard average wines.

We were greeted by Rhys who was our waiter throughout our visit.
We chose the following starters:
Spiced parsnip soup - very tasty
Mixed seafood starter - lacked taste

Main course:
Gower lamb - very succulent, well presented, would definitely recommend
Pork belly - very tasty, the pork was gorgeously cooked, would definitely recommend

Dessert:
Apple crumble and vanilla ice-cream - beautiful, see photo attached
Crème brûlée - light, tasty and served with the flame alight so lovely to see.

The service was to a high standard, the request for my birthday was managed and effected really well - thank you.
The choice of non-alcoholic drinks were fair but no choice of a non-alcoholic wine or sparking.
Overall, we spent a lovely couple of hours in a relaxed atmosphere, where laughing out loud is encouraged and all our needs were met. Thank you Rhys.

Stopped in for an early dinner after exploring in the countryside. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Would love to stop in for a Sunday roast if I’m back here again.

They were super accommodating when we showed up before the kitchen opened, wonderful service. My mushroom tagliatelle, apple crumble and mulled wine were to die for.

Amazing place, stopped in after a day at the beach for a gorgeous early supper, 2 courses £18! Food was so good we had 3 😆. Booked our return visit there and then!
