For us this place is fantastic. We booked Grass no electric for 2 nights over the weekend. Cost us £29. If you have your own facilities then definitely book this site. The on-site facilities definitely need modernisation and we refused to use them. It is like a caravan graveyard in the storage area but drive further into the site and there are some cracking pitches. Great site for groups and letting the children roam. Safe with a barrier. There is some road noise from the A6 if you park near it but there is plenty if pitches away from it.
Great views over the lakes. There is a really nice walk along the river/canal at the entrance to the site. If you want a good cheap site on a stop over or weekend then definitely book this place. Make sure to bring your own facilities and dogs welcome.

After reading some reviews we were not expecting to stay. But. We booked in and easily found a great pitch next to the river with easy access for paddle boards. We had a great couple of days on the river and canal even got some cycling in.
Toilets were very basic but clean and tidy with plenty of hot water for showering. Everyone we met was friendly, on the campsite and out and about. We will definitely go back again.

Stayed for two nights. Toilets were smelly but relatively clean.
The "Club House" looked run-down from the outside and said "Cash Only" on the door so we never went in. Didn't see a shower block and the chemical toilet disposal point was not near the toilet block, no signage [for one] either! I wouldn't bring a young family here. It's a shame because there are plenty of things to do nearby with good pubs, cafes, shops, takeaways and restaurants within walking distance.

Very poor facility’s and the staff and Richard was not very welcoming.
They have not spent a penny improving the site in since it was made .
All they want is your money and it’s not a safe place.
They over charged for what they supply which is nothing.
There is a lot off dangerous areas on the site so I advise not to take your kids there.
I’ve thankfully got a new seasonal pitch for half the price with electric hook up for £380 instead off £638 a month with onsite washing machine and very good facilities and they have toilet roll and they are made from more than just breeze blocks.
Stay away from this site

We booked 2 night here, staying only one. It was very rundown and lots of abandoned units, boats and cars. I imagine once upon a time it would have been lovely. It did feel safe to stay, people there are genuine and pleasant to talk to. It does have toilets and a shower. Just needs a serious update. But it is what it is. It's a heaven for people who like to live cheaply on a site. We did not venture onto the other part of the site as there was no electricity points or toilets etc plus I didn't want to get stuck in the mud.

Interesting mix of mobile homes, live aboard boats, caravans, motorhomes and storage. Then to top it all large open fields surrounded by the River Soar. Beautiful, Great campsite

Had a lovely time here and for the money you really can’t fault it.
Yes it’s slightly run down and could use some
TLC. But there are hot showers, toilets (take your own loo roll!) and lovely walks in the area.
It’s a basic campsite and very good value for money.
