Great Team here, Gary & Denise are brilliant. Lovely full serviced pitches. Back door right on a fabulous canal path which we cycled. Some noise from the busy road. Plenty COVID safety here. Great separated rubbish bins clearly labelled & not overflowing👍. Will be back if we can. No hesitation to recommend 5⭐+

Stayed on a fully serviced pitch for 4 nights near the canal, very nice and friendly site where everyone says "hello ", our neighbour even offered us a cuppa while setting up, hosts are lovely, petrol station with shop and nice pub just outside the gate that does lovely meals, nice walk into whitchurch down the canal with a little cafe on the way.
Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you...👍

An exceptionally friendly, well run site. I’ve had the pleasure of staying here three times a year for the last five years. This was on the recommendation of family members who have been staying at this site since it opened. Denise, Trevor and Gary are always welcoming on arrival and willing to lend a hand if needed. The site is in beautiful surroundings with excellent on-site security & caravan storage facilities.

Extremely well run site. Very friendly owners. We were unhitched then towed by their tractor and backed on to a perfectly level hardstanding pitch to protect from driving on the grass which was perfect. The pitch was fully serviced, only £21 a night.
Toilets Immaculate, didn't use the showers as we used our own. Lots of different bins so full recycling could be achieved.
You can get directly onto the canal path through a very secure gate (combination lock).
Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Whilst im sure this site is loved by many.....
I'm afraid we really didnt benefit from it at all ,because we were given a pitch right next to their caravan storage facility and right next to the entrance .

A noisy main road close by , a dog barking somewhere during the day and a really strong smell of manure in the air gets you in a rural, country mood.

you have to park in a very exact position and are guided into this personally by the owner, ....backwards , forwards , backwards again until its just right for her.
This was an exciting first for us in two years of owning a camper van......
Seriously , the pitch is quite large and it really isnt rocket science to understand how to pitch a camper, especially after over 40 years of us using campsites. I really did not like being treated like a naughty child until I did it right.
It was very offputting but the lady did apologise politely for me being confused.
After driving for 3 hours in the driving rain, this was the last thing I needed to be doing and It has never happened to me before when arriving at a site...

Dont be led astray by the apparently low price of £22 a night because you have to pay extra for everything imaginable. Showers 50p for 4 minutes. Tv ariel extra charge, Awning extra charge. Day visitors have to sign a book and pay a charge to enter. No extra cars are allowed on site but extra car parking is available and charged for at the entrance . We didnt have anything extra of course.

There are cameras pointing all over the site, which I do know is necessary these days ,but even though we are often on camera, it was still a bit unnerving to have one pointing straight at our van all the time.

The bin emptying and caravan moving with a tractor was very loud almost daily on the path right next to us.
Though I hasten to add it was never at night which was always fairly quiet .

The elsan dump was right behind our van over the fence so that was really easy for us to use and we had the added excitement of watching others dump their excrement as well. Yay.. whats not to love.

There are loads and loads of site rules printed up all over the place....if you are at all uncertain how to behave as a camper.. you certainly wont be unsure anymore after reading them all..

Overall though, we had a nice, fairly quiet ,relaxing week using our own shower and toilet facilities and doing a lot of walking .
There is a nice little honesty shed with a few useful items for sale including ices and local eggs . Also a book swap and walk leaflets e
Everywhere is very nice and clean and the walks down the canal through the heavily barred and coded gate are magnificent. Canal locks and narrowboats galore.

The country perfume on site however was an unpleasant bonus and very strong. That was obviously not the sites fault though.

Will we ever return...think you may know the answer ...

Our second stay at Canal Side in less than twelve months having come across it whilst we owned a narrowboat and used the Llangollen canal alongside which it is located. With the 5 rise Grindley Locks to sit and watch the boats go in either direction and chat with the boaters and take refreshments at the lock side café to idle away the day. Across the road the fabulous Horse and Jockey pub/restaurant can delight any bodies pallet or if you do not want to exert yourself just relax in the quiet privacy of the campsites hidden pitches and pour another glass of wine or buy another chocolate Magnum ice cream from receptions amply full freezer.

Nice site. Stayed 3 nights mid week. Water and waste at the pitch as well as 10A hook up on hardstanding. A combi lock gate for easy access to the canal path (slightly awkward while getting a bike through while holding the gates). Quiet mid week but gets more people arriving towards weekend for seasonal pitches. Overall relaxed and enjoyed it.
