From the first moment we arrived we felt welcomed by the owners. Friendly and pleasant to talk with, I honestly don't know what the other reviewers were talking about (perhaps it's them and their attitudes and not the owners who were the problem?). We had a lovely flat pitch under the hedge with ample electric supply (don't use your kettle & toaster at the same time folks, simple).
Yes, the toilets and shower could do with an update but the tranquility more than makes up for it... believe me, I've had much worse in the outback caravan parks in Oz.
You also must visit the church just over the road, it's magical inside.
I'd definitely stay here again.

Liked: Lovely cute site. The warden was excellent, showed us to our pitch and gave us all the information we needed on the area for eating out and dog walking etc.
The site is kept really well and it is lovely and quiet.
The pub in the village is excellent and there are lots of public foot path for walking.

Disliked: Disliked is abit harsh but the toilet and shower facilities really need an upgrade. That said they were spotless and checked often

For a small, basic campsite, this place is a gem. It is really peaceful. There is the church bell that chimes every 15mins but for a light sleeper it didn't bother me.
The site had two bathrooms. One with a sink and toilet and the other with a toilet, sink and shower over a bath which were clean. They have one washing up sink however when we stayed they did have an issue with hot water for the sink but that was the only issue.
The summerhouse was a nice touch and had a fridge, games, books, etc which would be great for wet days.
The staff were friendly and helpful too and the pitch site was flat and well maintained.
At a maximum make sure you have 25meters of cable for an electrical hook-up and you will have no issues there.
Off site there is a small shop and a fantastic park for the children a short walk away.
I would be very happy to stay here again.

Liked: This was a very peaceful and relaxing site. There was plenty of space for our children to play. Toilets and shower always clean. Owners very helpful on arrival. Would defo be visiting site again. Village pub 600 metres away is very nice and worth having a meal if stopping at the site.

Liked: This campsite is in a lovely location, yes it is basic but I was only staying for one night so it was perfect for me, and beat the price of any other local campsites. Checking in was very simple, arrived and phoned them and they came out to greet me and show me to my pitch, and then gave me a small leaflet for the site and explained where everything was.

Although the toilet and the shower stall was small and basic it was very clean and tidy and did the job.

It was very quiet in the evening and the more, I got a very good night's sleep.

There is also free WiFi available which (as a young adult) is obviously very important.

Disliked: It isn't so much a dislike, just maybe something that needs to be looked at if you aren't already aware of the issue. I would have made someone aware but I left quiet early so didn't want to disturb anyone. The floor in the single toilet area is damaged, when you stand on the area near the toilet, it sinks quite alot.

Liked: The location was nice and quiet, the local residents were friendly. Near a nice pub/restaurant. Nice and clean.

Disliked: Local church bell which chimed every half hour. The site had only 2 toilets, 1 shower and 1 wash up sink which had no hot water. Hot water had to be collected from the toilet.

Liked: We had a lovely weekend at Poachers Patch. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Although it is a quiet site it is ideal for children. The large field enabled our daughter to play and enjoy the outdoors. The local pub is just down the road and has good food. The facilities on the site are good and we will definitely stay again.

Liked: We had a lovely stay at Poachers Patch, friendly welcome from Judith, facilities clean & basic, nice grass pitch with mature trees. Relaxing & peaceful. Lots of dog walks around the village & surrounding countryside, made to feel very welcome. There is big church, worth a visit for the impressive ceiling.

Disliked: Nothing
