Liked: Super friendly and helpful park wardens - they really made our stay! Great toilet and shower facilities, always spotlessly clean. Good location. The walk to the Hop Pole pub (defo recommend) along the canal was lovely and if you keep going you’ll reach Retford town.

Disliked: The women’s basin taps were hot water only. Not a show stopper, may have been down to weather but would prefer cold.

Arrived today for 4 nights, over the bank holiday weekend. Friendly welcoming with a big pack of info of what's going on in the area. Small adult only site with a large field to walk dogs. Toilet and shower block immaculate. Short walk to the canal. Great local pubs, the closest pub the Hop Pole is FANTASTIC. Right on the canal serving excellent food. Take away deliver to the site too. Beautiful views and what a sunset!

Liked: Nice quiet adults only campsite with reasonably sized pitches and which were level. Toilet and showers were clean, warm and tidy. There is a village about 10 minute's walkaway (Clarborough) Which has a pub and a shop, although we didn't use the pub ourselves everyone we spoke to who had been there it was good. Retford, approx 2 miles away and has everything else you could want. The site itself has a security barrier and CCTV and is well managed by a nice couple who were friendly and always on hand, should you need, but also left you alone to enjoy your stay. Would we say here again ? Yes we would

Disliked: Although £4.00 worth of electricity is included (£1.00) per night we spent a total of £9.00 for our four nights Which when added to the original price doesn't make it the cheapest site, also the toilet block is quite small for the size of the site

Liked: Clean site and friendly helpful wardens. Beautiful area to explore on foot beside beautiful canal walks, with plenty of watering holes along the way. The site is well maintained and the views and sunsets are a delight. The surrounding area is both peaceful and peaceful, ideal for a short break. The toilet and shower facilities are new and spotlessly clean. Local radio streams through the toilet facilities which we both found lovely. This is only the second site we have experienced this but really like this touch.

Disliked: Not a dislike but an observation. The shower spray reaches the hangers available for you to hang your clothing so dampens everything. The floor is then wet through ( obviously as it's water) so balancing to get your clean clothes on can be challenging, a floor shower mat might help. And like others before me the additional payments for electrical use bumps up the price of a weekend away. We payed around an additional £9 but with on costs of a dog, an awning it all soon mounts up. Pitches where a little tighter than we prefer, but it is a lovely quite site and area.

Liked: Nice, flat, gravel pitch. Easy access. Hosts were very welcoming and available to offer help when needed (we had to borrow a spanner for the gas.) Good showers and toilets. Lovely location - we were unlucky with rainy weather but would return because there are good opportunities for nice walks from the site.

Disliked: No wifi - we can manage without it but would be nice to have it available.

Liked: The site is lovely and quiet and easily accessible with good level pitches. The toilet block is very good and is kept spotlessly clean.

The wardens are brilliant - amazingly helpful and always on hand with information on the local area.

Disliked: There is a small amount put on the meter for electricity but if the weather is cold, that soon runs out. You can purchase more but it would have been more economical if we had switched our caravan heating to gas.

Liked: Owner was very friendly and helpful. Toilets and shower facilities were clean and modern with a hairdryer free to use. There is a dog field at the back of the site for a convenient walk which my pup loved. The site is small and quiet - the view of the sunset is incredible. There is also a washing-up station to use but bring liquid and a tea towel.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Fantastic little site in clarborough just outside Retford.
The wardens are lovely people and very helpful with anything you need.
The site is very quiet and well kept. There is a bit of a slope on some pitches so levelling blocks would be needed.
The toilet block is immaculate with roomy showers and plenty of hot water.
There is a local Spar shop and pub within 10 to 15 mins walk and some great dog walks along a nearby canal.
There is a barrier entry system so very secure at night.
We will definitely be back!

Disliked: Just be mindful that electricity is extra!
