Happy Jakes

Fantastic camp site!
Easy to locate, great price and all round perfect camping experience. Decided to pick Happy Jakes to introduce a newbie to camping and it didn’t disappoint. Getting there was really easy and the welcome pack waiting for us made it quick to locate the pitch and get set up.

The toilet and shower block is really clean, warm and tidy. The showers are lovely and warm, great when it’s a been a cold day out. There is a fridge if you need to keep a few things cool and a large washing up area.

We went during the week so it was a little quieter but other campers were friendly and the site quietened down in the evening around 22:00.

Loads of places nearby to visit and great coastal walks with stunning views over water.

All in all a great location and we will be going back again!

Very big pitch excellent place fantastic for dogs a great 3 acre field for them to explore our dog had an amazing time so did we can't wait to go back

This is a nice site in the middle of what's left of the countryside. We visited when the kids were still in school so we had a perfectly peaceful time. I will go back.

Hosted by a genuinely lovely lady called Mandy. Excellent site with very clean facilities, large pitches and well thought out. Would highly recommend.

Lovely clean site. Toilets and showers immaculate. Pitch largest we’ve ever had. Lovely and quiet. Excellent dog field. Owners very friendly and always available when needed. Great location a short drive from Barry Island for Gavin and Stacey fans like us. Play area large and modern play equipment in view of pitch so out 8 year old was very happy. Fridge freezer available to store food. Thank you Mandy we will be back one day. Really enjoyed our first trip to South Wales. The Hitchens.

Lovely site but very expensive with electric added on to daily pitch rate nobody available during 3 night stay for information would not recommend

Beautiful area. Lovely campsite, perfect little get away, pods are fantastic. Aeroplane on site is an incredible thing to veiw. Hosts are lovely and helpful, not too far from beach and a castle. Would 1000% visit again

We enjoyed our stay at happy jakes. Mandy welcomed us on arrival and was helpful and kind throughout our stay and the toilets and showers were always clean. My only suggestion is to put another toilet block at the other end of the site, my five year old struggled with the distance from our pitch.
