Liked: Sharon and Gerald were extremely attentive despite being understaffed through no fault of their own. We were treated well and Gerald was really helpful while we were setting up. The facilities were clean and tidy and kept clean regularly. The bar was well stocked with a selection of beers and some lovely wine at reasonable prices. We brought our trailer tent and the pitch was spacious and very tidy. The hotel and garden were clean and tidy. Our children made friends with other children and they were friendly and polite. The site is 10 mins from Barry beach and 25 mins from Porthcawl beach. We would highly recommend to visit.

Disliked: The rain!! But hey ho you can't have everything!!

Liked: The owners! Such lovely people who went above and beyond to help us throughout our short time there. Basic facilities but for £35 they were more than adequate. Cheap alternative to overpriced accommodation in Cardiff when a concert is on.

Disliked: Wish we’d thought to order breakfast at the hotel the night before. Our fault.

Liked: Situated 10 miles out of Cardiff. 10 minute ride to Barry Island.
Although situated in between 2 main roads no issues at all with the noise.
Owner was a lovely lady very helpful.
Toilet /shower area basic but very clean.
Site clean and tidy.

Liked: Lovely spot, close to Barry Island beach. The gentleman who checked us in was lovely and accommodating. came round in the evening to make sure we were ok and set up.

Disliked: Bit expensive for what you get (Compared to other places we have stayed) but still lovely

Liked: Good location for Airport and Cardiff

Disliked: Over priced @ £45 a night (August) toilets and showers in need of an update, Site needs a clean up.

Noisy roads on 2 sides of the camp.

Liked: Warm welcome from the owners and hot water for dish washing.

Disliked: Noise from the airport and 2 very busy roads adjacent to the site. The facilities were very basic and dated - the toilet and shower block appeared to have been last updated in the 1950s. The dish washing area was bizarre - a sink and drainer in the corner of what appeared to be an old boiler room, with peeling paint and broken equipment around it. We were astounded by how expensive the site was compared to others which have modern, clean facilities and peaceful locations.

I cannot agree more with the other reviews regarding this hotel. I stayed here during early September for a few days. As others have mentioned before, Sharon and Gerald , the owners, are kind, lovely and very welcoming. The minute I walked in, I felt right at home. I definitely recommend staying there. Thanks a lot for your hospitality.
