Thank you for a brilliant time staying in Goosepen cottage.
Really comfortable accommodation, great location and great pub.
Dog friendly in the living area so our boys could dry out and stay warm after being on the hills.
We will be back again. Thank you.

We had a great stay at Goosepen in March. The key things we look for in a holiday cottage are a log fire, enclosed garden for the dog, quiet location and a pub within walking distance. Goosepen has got the lot and more.
The owners Roz & Dave were very helpful before our stay, giving us useful information on the cottage and the area. The video on the website makes it very easy to find. The garden is a good size and very secure if you’ve got a dog. It’s got great views of the nearby fells. There are 2 seating areas outside but we didn’t use these as a wasn’t quite warm enough. The living area is a good size with a dining area, log fire and 2 large comfy sofas for watching tv. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need to make your own meals.
The location is perfect. Very quiet but only a short drive to some spectacular walks in the lakes. We would definitely recommend Wastwater, Dalegarth Railway and the nearby beaches at Seascale and St Bees. The Bridge Inn pub is a 5 minute walk and serves good pub food and great local ales. I’d also recommend the nearby Woodlands Tea Rooms, especially for breakfast.
We will definitely return to Goosepen and would highly recommend it for a relaxing break in the Lakes away from the busier areas such as Bowness.
