What a lovely place to stay! Orchard lodge is spacious yet cosy with everything you would need. The added touches of cake, tea, coffee, hot choc, fresh eggs and fresh flowers on arrival were a lovely welcome. Anne and Rob and their 4 dogs were the perfect hosts. Thank you, we’ll be back.

“Relaxing Rural Retreat”

Our 5th year holidaying at Pound Farm but our first in the new lodge & WOW! We were blown away by the incredible accommodation.

Every detail had been so carefully thought out with the perfect balance of both practicality & homeliness.

The standard of the decor & facilities was top class and made for a luxurious stay.

Additionally, personal touches of a homemade cake, fresh farm eggs from the hens outside, milk & a bottle of wine in the fridge, toiletries & fresh cut flowers from the garden made it even more special.

We absolutely loved watching the birds on the feeder throughout the day & as always Chester dog enjoyed the safety & security of the securely fenced garden, whilst still being able to make friends with the sheep through the fence.

As always, Rob & Anne’s hospitality was second to none & we already can’t wait for our first “fortnight stay” next year!

What a great location for a spell away from the rat race. A lovely welcome frome Anne and the dogs. The most relaxed I’ve been in a long time.
Would definitely recommend

A beautiful lodge in a stunning setting! We loved our stay at Orchard Lodge - it was incredibly peaceful and had everything we needed and more. Getting to see the lambs every day was a particular highlight! The area surrounding the lodge is also fantastic - lots of nice walks and a short drive to other interesting places to explore. Anne and Rob were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and made us feel instantly at home - thank you very much!!

We were very disappointed with our experience, and as Superhosts on Airbnb we do know how to plan and book a trip including reading the information beforehand. Was supposed to be non/smoking but unfortunately the whole place absolutely stank of smoke and it really ruined our stay, and the owners seem to be saying they can’t control previous guests behaviour, but if you allow guests to smoke on the small veranda of a wooden building it’s a situation waiting to happen. Would have liked to have known this ahead of time to make alternative plans, and Anne was lovely and helpful in person so I was surprised not to have been told. There were some lovely touches such as cake, flowers and wine and we enjoyed those, and the rural location is beautiful. They are building other lodges very close to this one though. The Wi-Fi is also very patchy which was not given in the description ahead of time - they mention light use but it just didn’t work at all (and with no phone reception, which was mentioned) which meant we found it hard to make tweaks to plans for our trip, which is needed with small children

We had a lovely stay at Pound Farm Lodge, Anne and Rob were very welcoming. Situated in a quiet Devon backwater, but within easy reach of many sites and attractions.
We are in the process of rebooking, thoroughly recommended .

Anne, Rob & Family,

You have a wonderful lodge with all the home comforts, plenty of lovely walks and local pubs, waking up to the chickens outside the window and seeing all the stars at night, it's very quiet and peaceful, looking at your photographs of your journey from caravan to lodge just shows how much effort you have put in to it to make it lovely warm luxurious place to stay
Thanks for the Xmas tree & Trimmings it made us feel right at home and the wine, prosecco, Xmas cake and mince pies were a nice touch as well as the eggs, milk, tea & coffee
