Morland House, Cumbria

We had a wonderful family weekend at Morland House - there was something for everyone from the youngest (3 months) to the oldest (71)! Very interesting history, very comfortable and friendly home. So much to see - I wish we had been there longer than a weekend! The weather was glorious so we got to enjoy the gardens and their carpets of snowdrops! Plenty of space to spread out and find a little quiet nook even with 20 of us in the house!

We finally all got together at Morland House at the beginning of June, rearranged twice due to Covid. We could not have chosen a better venue, what a beautiful house and amazing grounds! Some of the younger members of our group even plunged into the river pool in the grounds - briefly!! Everything was spotlessly clean, not easy in such an old house. Julia could not have been more helpful, giving us information about local events and places to eat. We all 19 of us had a very happy few days together in this never to be forgotten house - hope we'll be back sometime!

A wonderful time in Moreland House 15 of us, 4 to 80, never a quiet moment. We all particularly enjoyed the grounds, as well as the truly atmospheric house….. a perfect Hide and Seek venue! We’ll be back!

We held my mums 80th birthday weekend here at the end of August. This is the second time we have used the house for a large family celebration, and it is one of our special places. The house is exceptional with its period features - the interior is stunning - plenty of space, amazing gardens and the croquet lawn. Just perfect for that special family occasion. It is well equipped and the helpful staff from the minute you book to post visit service is beyond excellent. Be sure to make use of the excellent catering service - it helps when there are large numbers in your group. Wonderful food. Thanks to the team at Morland - we will be back !!!

Hard to say just how much we loved staying at Morland House; Julia and Jane, and the whole team, had made it so beautiful for our annual family gathering, making us utterly proud to host it this year - 'one for the ages' we were told. Thank you thank you, we all had a brilliant time and if we can come back we'd love that too, I know.

Fantastic place for hosting large groups - My wife and I entertain here once a year with a group of friends - can't recommend it enough! - the reason why we keep on returning.

We love going to Moorland house every year. It became New Year tradition. It has everything you need to spend time with family and friends.

only had a weekend.
