The Kathrene Holiday Flats

The location is great and parking is ample. On arrival I was greeted by a friendly young lady who help me with my things up to the room. Disappointingly, despite it being the middle of winter and bitterly cold, there was no heating on when I arrived. I did put the electric heater on, but this smelled as It didn't seem to have been used for some time. I was also disappointed to be on the top floor, Room 5, up 4 flights of stairs, which is not at all ideal for someone with bad knees and a dog that needs to be let out to the toilet regularly. The shower room was very small and down a step, which again is not ideal if you need the loo in the middle of the night and are half asleep, quite dangerous really, and the shower was extremely claustrophobic, with the shower curtain sticking to me and literally in my face, while I attempted to shower and the tiny heater didn't work so it was like an Ice Box. I was cold in bed and had to ask for blankets as I couldn't eave the electric heater on as my dog could have burnt himself on it if he got too close to it. This was my first visit here and I will be unlikely to return.

I asked for ground floor but was told on booking this was unavailable. I was advised I would be in flat 3 which I knew where this was as I had stayed previously. The flats are clean. Owner pleasant. Dog friendly. Many places charge extra by dog, the Kathrene doesn't. Kitchen small as is bathroom. Flat had everything we needed. We have stayed in the past and will return again. If you have issues with the stairs request ground floor.

Clean and tidy but basic. Stairs so need to be fit! Hosts very helpful but you don't see them unless you want to. Suited us needing a base for a family function.

We booked for a little break from Monday to Friday. We had the Ground floor sea view flat. And access to the Sun Lounge. We were very impressed by the very friendly welcome and especially the cleanliness of the flat. There was everything we needed in the kitchen. Just like home from home. There was My Partner and I and our 2 dogs. There was on street parking and very safe. We were so chilled out and so much so we booked for an extra two nights. Lovely place to stay, close to all local amenities. It was away from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool but close enough to visit and it felt very safe. The views were amazing. We can't wait to return. You can see the owners take pride in this Business. It was excellent value. Thank You
