Big Yellow Self Storage Chelmsford

We used big yellow storage when our landlord asked for the house back which gave us 8 weeks to buy a house , obviously this was Impossible and that's where Ryan and big yellow came to the rescue.The whole operation is slick , secure , organised and professional. Even though Its a cost you could do without forking out for ( Inc extras like padlocks, insurance , deposit ) , its saved our skin really. Ryan is an absolute credit to to the big yellow company and we could my of asked for a better person to help us . He treats you like a friend you've known for years , he will bend backwards for you and is always there to help. He treats the company like his own business and we respect that.

There are two floors, hundreds of units of differing sizes and it's always worth speaking to the guys to discuss terms when you need extra space. It does amuse me to read the signs declaring you cannot store guns, drugs etc as the Police have authority to search units.

Staff are so helpful and friendly. Amazing service each time I pop in.

Excellent place where to start a business and in general for any extra space you need for storage. Lee the manager is a very professional person always willing to help.

I have used big yellow Chelmsford for over a year. The experience has been great. They provided a competitive quote, and upgraded the locker size for free when the one I requested wasn't available. Lee & the team were always available when I had a question and the paperwork etc was easy and quick. The facilities were always clean and tidy and I never had a problem with access, even out of hours. Would definitely recommend!

I turned up with my car full of possessions in the hope I could obtain storage space as soon as possible. I was greeted by Ryan Richmond who asked me what size storage I required and for how long. I selected a size I thought would be ample but then when Ryan asked me a few more questions it became clear to him I would need a larger area so he made his recommendation and took me up to see the unit size he was referring to. Once inside it became obvious this would be more suitable for my needs. Ryan efficiently went through all the necessary forms with me and due to my impaired hearing I had to ask him to repeat a lot. He did so without showing any sign of impatience or frustration even though there were other customers waiting.
Once all ‘paperwork’ was completed Ryan talked me through and showed me the procedure for entering and exiting the building to ensure my unit was safe, secure and alarmed.

All in all I was very impressed with the service and in particular with Ryan’s help and guidance. I would definitely recommend Big Yellow at Widford to others.

Checked everything in on line & bought our own cheaper storage insurance ahead of time (make sure you have it printed to take with you & add miscellaneous "household items" to your inventory so that you match your insured amount)
Check in was relatively quick and staff was very helpful. Dropped one star as due to a technical issue, they couldn't get my 24 hour access code to work and as it was a Sunday, their IT dept was slow/did not respond in time to sort it on the day..... I'll find out if the issue is resolved the next time I visit, so might update after that.

I have nothin g but good things to say about Big Yellow Storage. The customer service is excellent. Ryan at the Chelmsford branch has been so helpful and reassuring in securing us a storage unit at a very busy time. We finally moved our belongings in yesterday and it all went very smoothly. Thank you Ryan.
