The location is great opposite Waitrose in Oxford, and there is always parking, even on weekends and busy periods. The units are very reasonably priced and I was offered a great deal on a short term unit. Magenta also sells boxes and packing materials, which were fantastic for an emergency. The reception area even has an espresso machine for customers, which was really appreciated.
A great friendly, customer-focused service. Highly recommended.
I stored at magenta storage Botley Road Oxford from December 2019- May 2021 paying almost £300 per month for a unit on the ground floor AE7 and then AE9. This branch is absolutely rubbish for parking to access the storage , only one loading space available and the street is very busy with residents parking so little chance of parking especially at the weekend . After the first lockdown you had to phone when you got to magenta and ask them to open the door which is a ridiculous waste of time and makes no difference whatsoever in protecting against covid it’s just that the staff got lazy and found it more convenient to keep reception locked and the automatic door leading to the units closed until requesting opening by phone Storage units are shabby , old and extremely dusty/dirty , Magenta wanted to hike my monthly price even higher to over £300 even though I wasn’t getting value for money anyway , opening times were extremely limited to begin with 9-5 and shorter weekend hours , yet once covid hit they reduced them even more making it near impossible to access if you have a job ! I decided to vacate my unit and go elsewhere as the price was becoming extortionate and as I vacated my unit we found that our belongings had been damaged by rats , our boxes etc had been chewed through and there were plenty of rat droppings around ( the whole of magenta has poison boxes scattered around all corridors so there is obviously a known problem ) I have photo evidence of this . On discovering the rat droppings and damaged belongings I informed the man - whom I presume was Jeremy as he is the one who sends all of the emails and is always sat at reception , he came to look at the droppings and his response was simply “oh yeah” that’s about all he could manage !! No apology no refund or compensation offered for damaged goods etc , shocking rubbish service especially considering the monthly fee I had paid for a year and a half . I would advise avoiding Magenta and using a better storage company with proper opening hours and better access , Magenta is not worth the money and their customer service is non existent .
