A G Meek Shoe Shop and Shoe Repair & Key Cutting Shop

Went to town to get some keys cut for my new flat today. Was shocked with the prices quoted by the big national company, and the take it or leave it attitude. So I left it. ( I'm very stubborn. ) Just outside, a lovely young lady told me to go to Meeks as they are cheaper and the service is better and were they right!!
They are in a shoe shop, a little hard to find but worth the effort. I had all 6 keys cut for just over HALF of the other shops price. And the staff were amazing. Curtious and very quick. I was made to feel like a valued customer and I will return with all my shoes to get repaired.
I dont usually leave reviews as I vote with my feet. But seeing the last review I felt I had to say how my experience was today.

The worst place at all to cut keys: is a lot expensive, you pay times four the price worth for the service. Once I've asked for 2 keys they made 3 for mistake and they let me pay for the wrong one too. Others are much more cheap and fast.

I noticed your reply, but I cannot reply again. I haven't mentioned Timpson, that is even worse, once they asked me 9 £ for a single key. But I've paid a lot all the same by you, cheaper but not cheap, and one of the keys was really a small one. And the fact that you let me pay the wrong kry as well was a shame. Newport Locksmith in Carleon road asked me 3,50 £ for 2 key, you 11 plus 2 of the wrong 13. Do you think is fair? A lot of 100 keys to cut costs about 40 pounds, I understand the service, but charging the 1000 percent is a bit too much. Better than Timpson, but only than. Timspon, that is a legal thief. Highly recommended. Repaired and made my old favourite pair of shoes look like new.

I've been here a few times for shoe repairs / keys / dog tags and the service is always fantastic. We went today to ask for help making a limb guard for our new rescue dog who's an amputee and Matt went completely out of his way to help us. He tried several different options and was so loving to her when trying to find the best fit.

We've found a possible solution with his help and will be back again after ordering a part from the US. Thank you so much for the outstanding customer service.

Went to various locksmiths all around Newport for a rather unusual key to be cut - none of them could do it. Walking past A G Meek I noticed they did key cutting.

Spent about 15 minutes having a friendly chat to the chap behind the counter, in which time he identified the key I needed, ordered 2 for me and arranged to have it cut. All the locksmiths I tried didn't want to know and just said "we haven't got that key".

Now I have 2 spares thanks to the cobbler/ locksmith / watch maker at A G Meek Newport. Highly recommend their service. A*.

Best place to get your shoes fixed! Matt is very friendly, skilled and passionate about his work. I took some formal shoes and a pair of beloved old trainers in that I thought could never be fixed, and he did an incredible job, saving them from the bin, and giving them a new lease of life. 100% will take any shoes to him in the future!

I would like to thank the 2 members of staff on the Key Cutting Department. I think their names were Matt & Stuart. I needed a spare key for my front door The original key was rather worn but with patience and perseverance they managed to cut a key which fitted the lock They are both a credit to your company Regards Wendy Morgan

Went in to get the insole of my Dr Martens fixed, did it quick and didn't want to charge me for it. Picked up some great cleaner for them and was out in a few minutes, great shoe store, amazing service.
