Good choice of shops, these photos are on one of the side walls outside it shows what Chelmsford was like in the early 1900's, i hope they interest you?, please view photos with your phone on it's side (landscape), except photo number 5 which is (portrait), i wonder if anyone may know someone, from these people in the pictures, you may also notice there are photos from Marconi's as well, you will find them on the front of the Woolpack pub in Hall street.

Still has that village feel despite being in a city. The indoor market is a great place to pick up anything from deep fried spring rolls, vegetables, a variety of cheeses, haberdashery, home plants and more.

Lots of shops around. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Ample free public toilets.

A lovely relaxing environment for a day out.

We picked Turtle Bay for our Anniversary meal, after hearing it was good.
We arrived and were greeted with a lovely atmosphere. Even better there was a 2 for 1 deal on the nice selection of cocktails.
For starters we had the shrimp and squid which was delicious. It was the mains that let it down unfortunately as the jerk chicken was lacking in flavour and was dry which was disappointing as we were really looking forward to it. We ended up sharing the brown chicken, The waitress was really nice about it when we gave her our feedback.

Please note this review focuses on the centre of Chelmsford - not the mall exactly… As first impressions go, I liked the vibe and feel that Chelmsford have to offer. I’m giving 3 stars now but fully intend to revisit and experience the city in its fullest - where upon I’ll likely up my score to 4 or 5. I liked the sporadic displays of street art about the place and the contemporary feel that the town planners have clearly considered in the construction of the place. What’s more - I noticed that the town have clearly put up Halloween decorations for the complete Autumn feel - nice touch I say.

Really impressed, great shops, clean, and has parking.
The only downside is it’s just a little small in terms of total amount of shops and the parking spaces are tight.
Overall I would recommend!

A dark and windy late afternoon and there wasn't a lot of atmosphere at all. Usual shops but nothing really interesting here. To be fair, it might be much better during daylight and with no rain!

Just in case you have any electric / battery powered by scooter or uni-wheel, scateboard etc..... There's a very small sign outside the entrance /exit from any way looking at it....saying that you are not allowed to bring it in, I've had mine folded, in my hand... But some security label wearing young man came up to me asking for me to leave..... Crazy, I think people forgot that their wanting to go green ASAP somehow disappeared from the surface..... Whole world now wants to see war and, other things that, yesterday, they have been praying forgotten..... Shame

I purchased a pair of warm lined boots in the sale (which was further discounted at till) and slippers (same quality but cheaper than elsewhere).
Five stars given to the young lady (in red polo-neck jumper) who helped with accessories to make fit better.
A plus to have a machine to spray with protective product because I'm asthmatic; though, in retrospect, not sure how this works on synthetic materials?
