Lots of eating places here. Sadly Cineworld has shut which was disappointing...and there is a Next and New Look and River Island. The University campus is on the other side of the road. However. not sure where all the customers are meant to be coming from...hardly the demographic as far as I could see...as usual the KFC is shocking in terms of service standards and hygiene...and of course there is the incredibly run down shopping centre adjoining it..and no public toilets to be seen...and very weird access to ridiculous steps and inadequate lifts...would like to come back in couple of years to see what state it is all in....

Nice place to walk around, choice of restaurants downstairs, only downside is there’s not many shops upstairs that really are appealing, yes there is next, H&M, and others but maybe more shops like Zara or river island would be better for the younger generations. Also the floor upstairs, benches would look nicer if it was cleaned every now and then by the council due to bird droppings. The lifts have always been working when I have needed them but again could do with a spruce every now and then. Also there are no public toilets that I am aware of. Parking is available. There is a small fee.

The busiest that I have seen Friars Walk for a long time. A lot of people enjoying the location and a good range of activities put on by Newport Council today. Music, dance, clowns all good. But so many boarded up shop fronts and the sensation is that it is a zombie town. It’s sad. On a positive, parking in Kingsway is £1!

Nice place to walk around, shop and eat. Shopping center is immense and has covered parking for cheap on the ground floor. Good for a family day out with activities, cinema and other places which interest most age groups.

Always enjoy shopping here, shame about the empty stores thou. Yet more signs of a shopping complex in decline - unfortunately

Nice place, but not sure where to go, or what was there.. unlike other shopping places this has no map. We haven't lived in that area for 20+ years so alot has changed, and outsiders don't always want to wonder around, they want to know whats available. Just a thought, so good shops if you want clothes, and we popped into Holland and Barrett, always good for healthy food suppliments.
