Worst school in the borough i currently attend the school and absolutely hate it! the school is full of unqualified supply teachers who fail to control the class, the new headmaster has appointed some teachers that i feel are inadequate. The English and business departments are great , however, the rest are below average with expectation to a couple which are average. save your son and yourself the headache don't come to st josephs. the behaviour system is a shambles, they want to believe they are strict however they are just unfair, your son can be put into an hour detention for simply forgetting a book! it could just be an innocent mistake. honestly, ive been at this school for 4 years now and im sick of it. the canteen, the staff in the canteen treat you like the lowest of low. the food is horrible and the teachers on the door keep you out in the rain until they feel that you can enter (this can be 15mins+).

i hope by reading this you have come to the conclusion to look for other schools in the area.

if you have further questions email me i will be more than happy to help. (i may get in trouble for this however i don't mind as this is my honest opinion of the school)

i currently attend this school and i can say that the engineering block is good. the head of engineering is very qualified and has a lot of experience . he is also willing to use money out of his own pocket to help the students with any extra equipment for the department.

This school is good but some of the teachers abuse the behaviour system.Last year the detentions used to be 30 minutes (minimum)That was long enough as it is but this year they changed it to 60 minutes I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THAT if you miss your 60 minute you get 3 hour detention WOW! And the school says we need to be home early because it’s not safe late.BUT THEN THEY GIVE US LONG ASS DETENTIONS LIKE 3 HOURS!!!!

Listen everyone. Obviously there are people out there giving 1 star. But forget those reviews. They are stating false reviews just for the school to improve. It shouldn't have to improve it's as good as it is. I currently go here I'm in year 7 it's lovely obviously there are bullies just like any other school but look at the Latest GCSE results 80% of the school got As and A* it's outstanding. Before we didn't have good gcse results. But look where we are now. Also on the bus St joseph's pupils like me always help a woman who has a pram and makes space. That's the st joseph spirit. People do swear yes but a lot of schools in London do. However my school doesn't swear that much. Also the food is absolutely delicious the canteen is well-organized which I really appreciate. And they do Halal meat when they are a Catholic school. But 45% of the school is Muslim. The school has people from many different backgrounds I love it! If you currently go here be packed lunch every single day except Monday because Monday is when you get wings!

I am writing this review under a fake name as I am fearful of the treatment I will receive from members of staff at the college but please I urge you, do not send your child here. My time at St Joseph’s College has been living hell, there have even been days I have gone home and cried due to mistreatment from staff and feeling as though I had no where to turn for support. Please carefully read what I am saying, this is not the place for your child.

From my Point of view this school is very good and even though the building looks old inside it looks new! I recommend going here as I am having a great time. And the teachers as so nice!

This is supposed to be a Catholic school but seems to have been changed out of all recognition. Was a great place in the 70s and 80s, with amazing facilities for the time with swimming pool tech block art block science block and gym, tennis courts, running track and masses of playing fields locally and over in Warlingham Surrey. Loads of athletes, rugby and basketball football players came out of the school, even fencers. Should have stayed a Grammar. Utterly appalling the comments on here if real. Friends with loads of old Josephians from those years still, Croydon council yet again blowing a good thing (like the entire town). Shame.

This school is good and bad at the same time the reason why I said that is because SOME the teachers needs personal home training because they have no manners at ALL, also SOME teachers spend the whole lesson talking about their living and daughter all the time sometimes I feel jealous because I didn't get that love from my parents, THE FOOD IS VERY VERY VERY RAW THEY SPEND LOW TIME COOKING THE FOOD, but on the good side SOMETIMES its has a little taste to it. Okay the schools good because we have good teachers that understands us and loves us not SOME students ALL the students. This is my second year in johns ruskin college I hope SJC changed in many ways. BTW SJC BOYS STOP BREAKING OTHER FEMALES HEARTS!!!!!
