I think that Long Road Sixth Form College is a fantastic college, even more so complemented with its fantastic teaching staff, and it is set in 23 acres of land, though the college itself only takes a small amount of that! There's lovely mature trees (Some of which must be atleast 100 years old, if not much older), benches, daffodils and flowers (Especially at the moment, as it's spring), which makes being at the college simply wonderful. There's a butterfly garden in the centre 'quad' of the college, which contains many herbs and other such plants, in a bit to attract insects. The teaching staff are fantastic, and seem to have enthusiasm that I have not seen before, and really go out of their way to help you, even if you're not their student! The heads of the subjects, and higher admin staff such as the senior tutors, are easily approachable and do not intimidate at all. The support that can be given for those that need it is great, from having note takers in the lessons with you, to offering to help you with your homework. There are also teacher run 'workshops' several times a week, that go over the material that has been taught recently, which is fantastic if you have missed a lesson.
You can catch the Citi 7 bus from Robinson way, just across the road to the entrance, and that takes you down to Addenbrookes, which has a small hub there which you can then catch other buses that will take you to other areas of Cambridge. If you stay on the bus and keep going, the bus then goes down Hills Road, to Cambridge Rail Station, which again has other bus stops so you can catch other buses. If you continue on the bus, still, then you will be taken direct into City Centre, St Andrews Street. This only takes about 25-40 minutes, depending on how busy it is. This means if you have a few hours spare in you day, you can easily hop on the bus, get a coffee and a Subway, and then pop back to college again!

I have one month left at Long Road, and then I have finished my A-Levels. I wish I didn't have to leave!

I'm right near the end of my time at Long Road Sixth Form College. All I can say is I've absolutely loved my time hear! The people are amazing, the teaching standards are fantasitic and the sports and academic facilities surpass my needs by far. I recommend this college to anyone who does not want to go to Hills Road. Long Road is absolutely fantastic and I do not want to leave!

As a year one student, I have seen quite enough to gather a opinion. the school is nothing more than good, and good at best. the staff aren't too helpful and it feels like your left alone when you need any help. The school is also cramped and the facilities are poor. If you like a very big and squished place with lots of people then its for you,

My experience here was dreadful compared to what people generally think long Road is like. They claim to be supportive and accepting but instead made matters for me 10x worse when I came asked for support due to my mental health. Only 1 out of the 5 teachers I had through the 2 years there was actually good at teaching.

The place is cool and the teachers are great,
Lots of things around to do during break,
But here is one thing I really hate;
Walking fast everyday so I won't be late.
I mean, I'm late sometimes but they don't mind,
Most of the staff at this college are super kind,
But one of my teachers is a god darn fish,
And he's one teacher I will not miss.

(Sorry salmon, I'll miss you, I just needed something to rhyme with fish... I promise. Won't miss your lessons though.)

Edit: Nevermind, this college went downhill with their bluescreening computers :)

The students are super-happy and there is very little unhealthy competitiveness present among the staff. I hope that the school manages to keep the vibe and its character after demolishing the site and refurbishments being due. Genuine teachers and members of SLT, slightly uninformed on the social and emotional aspects of learning of the students or not being able due to their tight schedules. I would recommend working there to any trainees or teachers as there have their perks as a very peculiar educational setting; you will learn things you can't at many mainstream or private secondary schools/sixth forms.

The school has a really nice campus and the teacher clearly love what they do. I have just started here and I would highly recommend going if you are considering it, even if you live in an out of the way village.
