I was previously a student at the stony dean a secondary school establishment . At my time at the school, I was continuously bullied due to my short size. The method that the bullied used to stay out of trouble was telling the teacher that I had been bullying him. This was clearly a lie due to the fact that I had many witnesses and that he was twice my size. This had gone on for five years, in which I had several problems with my education due to the bullying factor. For example one of the problems that I faced a lot was that, I would be punished for bullying him but in realty he was bullying me. I am very disappointed about how the matter was dealt with. I am not blaming the whole staff as a few members of staff were educated engough to see what is in front of there face.

I was a former student at this school, and I must say that I had a terrible experience here, and this is why:

The first couple of years at this school were fine for me, I had a couple of meltdowns due to my uncontrollable anger back then, but they quickly stopped. Jumping forward a couple of years, and some major problems began to show. One of these first problems being bullying, and being forced to do activities that I weren't comfortable with doing. The bullying came from a specific person in my class, not going to name names, but he was very demanding and frankly very rude to me, and a few others in the year. As the years went on as well, some of the staff became very uncaring about my issues. This was reaching a point in my school-life where tests and exams were becoming relevant, and so the stress was high. On my last year I spent there, I did something quite irresponsible of me to do near the main entrance. This happened while a teacher and some students walked by, instead of this teacher talking to me to understand what was wrong, or sending another member to staff to talk to me, he made a very unprofessional joke, which caused my anger to rise. The students also made jokes, and said that they were going 'to put me on Snapchat', and the teacher did not take any action what-so-ever. After that incident. My depression was rampant in me. It got so bad, to the point where bad ideas and suggestions started to pop up in my head. Thankfully, with the help of some of the good staff they have there, and a couple of close friends, those thoughts faded away, but still loomed in the back of my head. I left school soon after, and my depression and terrible thoughts have cleared away since.

If anyone is considering to go to this school, or sending any of their children to go, please don't. I don't want them going through the same experience I had there. It does very much amaze me how they get an 'Outstanding' rating by their inspectors everytime.

Students are forced to wash teachers cars.School staff is annoying and not efficient enough.Poor communication, hard to reach anyone, do not get reply for emails letters. My result were delayed for months after leaving a realistic review.Teachers contacted my parents to change it.

School management and receptionists are making are making it worse. This school should have been shutdown long time ago.

Needs serious improvement

okay, i've never been to this school, however if everything the reviews here are saying are true, then I can totally relate, since I also went to an awful special needs school in penn, which also had a lot of problems and eventually got shut down as a result. I have a feeling it wont be long before stony dean goes down the same direction penn school did, unless they make improvements.

Stony Dean School is a great school for people with extra needs, the staff were so supportive of my needs which as led me to become more confident in my day to day life, they have teached me life skills and all the necessary qualifications to pursue my career, They always encouraged me to do things when I was keen, thanks to Stony Dean School and the Supportive Internship programme, I have now secured a job doing App Development in the IT sector. I can never be so much more thankful for my teachers giving me that extra push in my lessons.

Unfortunately according to Ofsted, this school is below average. The reviews of previous and current students are also slightly concerning. I hope the school does get better.
